Turkey Hunting

It's getting really close to Thanksgiving so Dad said we needed to go hunting for a turkey.  Me and Stanley Googled "turkey" on our computers cuz we never saw a turkey before.  So today when we went for a walkie, we kept our eyes peeled for a turkey so we could have it for dinner on Thursday.

We never did find a turkey and we thought that we might not get to have Thanksgiving dinner without a turkey but mom said she had a plan.  She said we will find out on Thursday.

Mom said I should remind ever'body that we still have Tweedles on our POTP page so if you could, click on the tab and leave a comment for Tweedles.

Also, we wanted to tell our furiends that the Animal Control officer came to visit T-Bone's pawrents.  We saw when the truck pulled into the cul-de-sac and then mean ol' Josh hurried up and put T-Bone outside in the backyard.  The Animal Control man told mom he was going to check T-Bone's living conditions but then he did not go into the backyard.  We think either Josh would not answer the door or would not allow him into the backyard.  We can't see the front of the house to know for sure.  But he already knew what it looked like cuz mom got the Animal Control officer's email address and me and Stanley sent him pictures!  We told the officer that T-Bone cried all one night cuz it rained and he couldn't get out of the rain.  So now T-Bone has a dog house made of unfinished plywood.  Of course this story will be continued.

And finally the last thing I wanted to tell you is something I am VERY excited about.  You all know about "Tony", well I am happy to say I am doing so good that me and Stanley get to run in a race on Thursday!  Yes, it's true, a 5 mile race!  It is called a Turkey Trot!  We NEVER did a race and NEVER did a Turkey Trot.  Maybe we can get a turkey there!

Ooooh! Have fun at that Turkey Trot! With any luck, you WILL find your turkey there. We're having ham - apparently you can hunt hams at Smith's, and our Mom was successful on her ham hunt hunt last weekend! Meanwhile, our Mom is whining about 'no snow' - she's all ready to go cross-country skiing, but the PC Golf course hasn't opened up yet because the snow has melted.... Guess that means she'll have to keep playing frisbee with us! Happy Thanksgiving, boys!

We've never seen a turkey either! Sounds like you'll be ready to tuck into a good feed of turkey after your 5-mile race. Happy running AND eating.

First so sorry about poor T-bone. His story makes us feel extra thankful for our people. We have turkeys like around our house. We like to chase them into the trees. We haven't got to catch one yet. We will keep trying. We hope you have a great race. Lee and Phod

How exciting to race against turkeys! (Is it possible you two are the "turkeys" the others are racing?) I've never seen a real live turkey but I have seen some photo bombing turkeys around here lately! I can't wait to hear all about the Turkey Trot!

Guys, the turkey is right there!

So sorry to hear about T-Bone. Why won't they just take him away and find him a better home?!

Glad to hear that you're doing just fine without Tony ;)

We laughed and laughed about your turkey hunting situation. I think he will show up in the oddest place when you do find him, (like the table)! Hey, congrat's on getting to run that race, wow you guys have powerful lungs and leg muscles to be able to run that race! maybe we will even see you on the evening news.
Poor T-Bone, we don't like to hate peoples but sometimes we can't help it.

Best of luck in your Turkey Trot run. I'll bet you will do great cuz you've been practicing. I am so thankful that my mom loves all of us and never leaves us out in the rain to be lonely and freeze. I think we need to put T-bone on the POTP list so that he can get a happy home. Lady Caroline

Excellent idea. We are going to try and get a decent photo of him, then we will add it to the POTP. (Since we live on a hill and his house is below ours it is hard to get a close up.)
