Farm Market Fun & Grands Time!

Mom and Dad took us to the Farmer's Market yesterday.  They said it would be good experience for us.  We just thought it was fun!

Nothing says Autumn more than posing on a bale of straw!
We liked the pretty flowers in the pots.
This lady just grabbed me up and said she had to hug me because I was so cute.  Thanks to mom's camera skills she caught 3 of 4 eyes closed.

We listened to classical music.  Mom said we needed exposure to the finer things in life.
There were people everywhere so we practiced walking in crowds.
Look at this new friend I met!  His name is Diesel and he is a mini Schnauzer.  I couldn't believe it, seeing someone smaller than me that was so cute!
After awhile we decided to just ride horses around town.  Mom had to give me a leg up but then I rode this horse all over the place!
Stanley had his own horse too.  He called his Lightening because he was so fast.

After we got done racing horses all over the place we went to see JC play at his soccer game.  He was the goalie.

Our grand peep JC turned 8 years old last week.

Our other grand peep is finally getting used to us.  She was scared of us for a long time.
She was even real friendly with Stanley and she used to be really scared of him!
Then this little girl we never saw before came up and started petting me.  I was very nice of course but we thought it was strange that her parents let her do this.  What if I was a wild vicious dog?
She was even petting Stanley!  Stanley was a gentleman too and did not jump on her.
Then we had to wave bye to the grand peeps and everybody went home.

It was a really fun day.  We met new people and did new things.  Me and Stanley can't wait to ride horses again.  It will be good practice for the Llamas!

Pond Play

Instead of going to the Fort on Friday, we went to the Pond on Thursday.  We like the Fort but there has been some construction going on where we play and the mosquitoes have been terrible.

This is our friend Annie.  She is a beauty!  She has been very sick with Heart Worm (despite the fact she takes the monthly treatment). But she is feeling better now and FINALLY got to come out for a walk.  We were so happy to see her again!
Of course Bert was there.  Everyone knows Bert!
This is our new friend Cooper.  We just met him for the first time but he seems to be a really nice guy.

We never remember these guys names but they start with a "T".  We just call them "The Twins".
This is the pond.  A trail goes around the pond.

We walked along the trail and at the end is a spot officially known as "Bert's Swimming Hole".

Stanley and Dad

Me and Stanley got to the swimming hole.  Mom and Dad had our swim ropes on so we didn't get into trouble with the river's current.  Dad threw out sticks and we swam out to retrieve them.

We love this game.  Our peeps are very careful so our swim ropes don't get tangled.

Rats!  Stanley got a head start on me!

We got into the part where it was over our heads and we had to actually swim.  We also stick our heads underwater.  We are not scared at all but after awhile I got very cold!

Then it was time to get back on the trail and go to the truck.

It was a beautiful evening!

Saddle Up Dood!

The other day, after we hiked the Bird Song Trail, our peeps got the idea that we should take another walk? What??  We like walks but . . . are they crazy?

So off we went.  At least this time it was an easy walk.
Then we both were stopped in our tracks!
"Brother, do you see them?"
"Yes brother, what are they?"
"I know the big one is a horse cuz I saw it on TV."
"They smell funny, huh?  Think we should ride it?"
"No, I don't think so . . . there's llamas back there too.  We should ride the llamas."
"I'm pretty sure that might be a bad idea.  I never saw anybody ride a llama on TV, so I don't think you can."

So on we went and walked some more.  It wasn't too much longer and once again we were stopped dead in our tracks.
"Brother, what are these flying fish?"
"I don't know brother but they sure make a weird noise.  Better leave 'em alone, they might be radio active."
So once again, off we went . . .

We stayed with our peeps but I'm still thinking it might be fun to ride a llama.

Bird Song

This morning we took a little hike on Bird Song Trail.  It isn't a really long trail and there are usually lots of birds along it.  It's funny because parts of it are lush green and other parts are dry with cactus.  It's the variety that we like.  The thing mom and dad we did  not like was all the dog poop along the trail.  Mom really wishes people would get tickets for not picking up after their dogs!

Me and Stanley had to check out the vegetation.
Stanley kept an ear open for rattler snakes.  It has been a very bad year for them and a couple dogs died!
Not too many signs of fall in this area.  It also looked like it might start raining.

Sometimes we had to stop and let mom and dad catch up.  They are very slow!
Mom, Dad, hurry up already!
We thought it was funny that NONE of these leaves have started to change!
Mom, there's more poop over here!
Better get headed back down the trail.
Yup, still lookin' like rain!
Mom, Stanley farted!
Why do I always get blamed?
