Frankie & Ernie Update

Hello furiends!  We need to give you some information about our pals Frankie & Ernie!

We know everyone has missed them like crazy cuz they have been MIA for quite some time (even longer than us!).  The good news is that Frankie & Ernie themselves are doing great!

BUTT their dad's medical issues have continued (and gotten worse) for quite a while now.  So their mom has been caring for him plus doing ALL the chores and errands as well as taking care of all the medical stuffs.  Don't tell her they told us butt Frankie & Ernie said they think she might be going a bit squirrelly from all the stress!

You know this is a really bad time of year for these sorts of things.  Frankie & Ernie even had to be the ones to fix the furnace when it quit!  Their mom knows NOTHING about rebuilding, repairing and replacing furnaces!  When it stopped working she just threw up her hands and told Frankie that he and Ernie needed to handle this one! It's a good thing that all the years of blogging (and being mayor) taught Frankie how to Google!  And she didn't even get mad about the oily pawprints from them handling the job!

Luckily Frankie has also been trained to deal with people on hospice care - even when it's his own dad.  And he's put the word out to Ernie so Ernie is following Frankie's example to help care for his dad too.

In the meantime, their mom is trying to take care of everything butt you know it can be quite stressful and exhausting.  So Frankie & Ernie asked us to put the word out that their mom is thinking of everyone butt she just isn't able to answer emails or write out Christmas cards.  So when you don't get a Christmas card from them this year, it isn't because they aren't thinking of you - cuz they are!

One last thing . . . Frankie & Ernie also report that having all this chaos going on in their home has really cut back on the number of  snowfreaks this year.  So that is good news.  In the meantime, keep them in your thoughts and prayers and they'll keep you in theirs.  After all, it's the Blogville way!

Meet Us At Bryce!

Hi ever'body! We wanted to pop in on the day that Arty, Rosy & Jakey were telling everyone about the upcoming Mini BAR at Bryce Canyon.  As you might know, me and Stanley have been there a million times!

We think Bryce Canyon is an extra special place.  It's rather remote, and located at just over 8,000 feet.

It's a photographer's dream and the hiking is magnificent!

It's very international too.  There are people from all over the world coming to see Bryce Canyon!

We like the hoodoos, there are a million of them!

And the best thing is to hike among all the hoodoos and see what new sculptures the wind has created!

A word of caution: Dogs are NOT allowed to hike in the canyon.  We are only allowed on paved trails throughout the park and the paved rim trail.  BUTT we can go to nearby Red Canyon and hike those trails!

There's a free shuttle that will take you from point to point (all through the park) if you don't want to hike.

There are a variety of options for lodging.  For dogs, RV's are the best option cuz it's expensive for dogs to stay at the hotels.  We'll be in the little wheelie house!  There are also cabins and teepees!

You have to be prepared for any weather conditions cuz ANYTHING is possible in early May!

Butt we hope some of you will take advantage of this mini BAR and plan to vacation with us!

For more details, you can see the videos on the Blogville Facebook age (there are 4 of them).  Although this is a casual, no planning mini BAR we are happy to answer any questions.  Leave your questions in the comment section and we will answer them there cuz probably someone else has the same question.

We hope to see you there May 2nd - May 6th!

Doodle Greetings!

Hello everyone! You may have seen us going around Blogville yesterday.  We hope we saw everyone!

Anyway, me and Stanley wanted to tell you we recently went to Bryce Canyon (see mom's boring blog for photos).  On our way back we were ALMOST home and we heard a terrible sound!  It turned out that the underbody cover of the wheelie house tore loose and was dragging under the wheelie house!  So the wheelie house will be going back in the shop later this month.  While it's there mom and dad are going to revisit the A/C issue cuz dad bought a thingie to measure the CFM and it is only putting out a third of what it should!  That story is to be continued!

Me and Stanley went running today but only went half the distance cuz it was so windy mom and dad were freezing.  Of course, me and Stan thought it was just right!

Farewell Good Friend!

Today we honor a dear furend, the first and only ever female and feline mayoress of Blogville.  She entertained us with her stories and antics.  We watched her in Cat Scouts and saw her purr over her man cat Raz.  And oh the twerking!  As special as Madi was to us, she was even more special to her pawrents.

But in our opinion, the greatest thing she ever did was bring people, kitties and pups together.  And she did it all without ever leaving the house.

Farewell Madi, we will miss you!

Please stop over and offer some comforting words to her pawrents who are still reeling from her sudden and unexpected departure to the Bridge.

Checking In

We are glad that our pals in the area of mean ol' Florence are all okay.  We hope no one has too much clean-up.  We are wondering if Ranger has gone home to check on things yet?

Me and Stanley told mom we needed to check in with ever'body and let them know we are still here!  Some pals on Facebook see mom's posts but other fur pals in Blogville do not see them!

It has been a long, hot summer and many of our fun activities have been put on hold.  Finally, we got to start running again so mom said there is hope it will cool off one day.

In the meantime, we are just keeping on.  We still do our chores around the house.

And Stanley still lives for food.  As a matter of fact, mom only got 2 cantaloupes from her pathetic garden and Stanley picked (and ate) both of them before she could even get a chance!  Mom had to buy one at the store!

Mom and dad are still riding their bikes like crazy.  Mom posted a few things about that a while back on her boring blog (on sidebar).  So all that is left for me and Stanley is . . .

We're Back!

You probably didn't know we left but in case you did, we're back!  Me and Stanley went to northern California to check on our niece Rosy.  She has grown so much since she left Utah and was adopted by Mayor Arty's family!  And dog oh dog can she run! She literally flies through the air! (We hope her mom has some photos of Rosy flying.)  We also did some catching up with the fellas, Arty and Jakey.  It was good to see them after almost a year!

Naps

Yesterday we took our pawrents out for a 6 mile run.  Lately, the weather has been kinda warm but yesterday was a bit cooler so me and Stanley really enjoyed it!

Here we are just taking a little nap.

At our house we are very serious about our naps, especially on the days mom and dad get up early to do their long run.  Last Saturday our pawrents rode their bikes for 37.5 miles but they did not nap when they finally got home.

Sometimes we nap on the chair too.

Sometimes I nap on the couch.  Is it time to eat?

Stanley wanted his picture taken with Bear.

That's all we have for now.  Mom says she and dad are putting together our trip for next month.  She said something about the Redwoods.  The furst trip we ever took was when we were 6-month-old baby puppies and me and Stanley went to the Redwoods.  It was how we learned to ride in the truck for REALLY long drives.  Mom says we are easy travelers.

Blogville Amusement Park Fun

I was just being bored when I heard my true love and fiance Ruby Airedale bark at me to get my furs over to pick her up for the Blogville Memorial Day festivities.

We had a great time riding all the rides and then the delicious foodables at the BBQ!

I had to do some sweet talking to get Ruby on the Log Plume.  Everyone knows she does NOT like getting her furs wet!

And the Smooch Cup, oops, I mean Tea Cup ride was fun too.

That woman turns my whole world upside down!

Be sure to check out the other activities around the Blogville Amusement Park as well as the amazing music!!

Stanley's Pawlitical Message

Stanley has found the pawfect way to offer an opinion on pawlitics.  When we went running on Monday he saw this sign, ran over and then peed on it.  Mom laughed and said she wished she knew he was gonna do that so she could have taken a picture.  So then Stanley pooped on it!  You can see the poops in the grass! And mom got a picture!

Mom sent the picture to this person's campaign manager (he is a friend) and suggested wearing gloves when they pick up this sign.  I was proud of my brother!

Last night mom took this picture as evidence that me and Stanley hog up all the leg room on the bed.  We don't think it proves a thing and besides, you know how she is with photo editing!

Somebody said they did not know mom had another boring blog (not good like ours).  It is on the sidebar.  She doesn't update it too much and it is really boring!

Silent Sunday

Hi ever'body! We were just kidding about the Silent part of our title BOL! I told mom we need to visit Blogville again and she said later today she is going to try to help us out.  Dang that no thumb thing!  Anyway, we thought we'd show you some pictures from our run last Monday.

I jumped up here cuz I saw a smack talking squirrel.  They're bad enough but when they start acting all big and tough I gotta chase 'em down!

Me and Stanley sniff lots during our runs.  We sniff so much that mom accused us of taking the fun out of her run!

How can she say such a think about the 2 most handsome Doods ever?

Happy mother's day to everyone who ever had a mother, knew a mother, was a mother, is a mother or can identify one in a lineup!

Excuses

Hi everyone! We got a reminder that it has been a long time since our last post so we forced mom to help us do one!  Dog oh dog, if we had thumbs we wouldn't have to rely on her to help us!  Anyway, we asked her why she has been slacking and here are her excuses:

First, we went to the Grand Canyon.  Some of you saw the pictures on that other boring blog (that updates even less than this one) or Facebook but in case you missed it here are a few pictures we are making her show as proof.

We took our little wheelie house.  The Grand Canyon has what mom calls "full hookups".  We don't know what those are but it makes mom really happy.

This was in our campground.  There were elk everywhere!  This one's name is Nigel.  Stanley was shocked when he furst met Nigel.

Since Nigel seemed to be kinda chill, I said hello too.

One day Nigel tried to drive our truck.  See him hiding?

Nigel had a furend keeping a lookout on the other side.  We didn't catch his name though.

Mom made us pose like she always does.

We had to keep dad on a string so he didn't fall into the canyon!

Dogs aren't allowed on the trails that go into the canyon but our pawrents went on a hike and showed us this picture.

Dogs are allowed on the paved trails around the rim so we did get tuckered out on those cuz there were lots of them.

There were so many new smells!

There are some ruins too.

It's a pretty big place.

The weather was really good.  When we left there and stayed in Southern Utah for a few days (no pictures).

After we got home mom gave dad a piece of paper.  We asked what it was and dad looked sad and just said "It's the Honey-Do list from hell boys".  Then dad started working.  Remember the garden box he made mom last year?

Mom started digging in the dirt and dad made this one.

Can you believe she wanted another one?  Her excuse was that this one is smaller and just for squash & melons so it's okay.  Oh wait, we love cantaloupe so maybe it is okay.  BUTT we had to do lots of snoopervision!

Then mom got this other thingie.  Me and Stanley just wondered "what's next"?

It was a Greenhouse! She put these little pots in it with seeds in them.  She said when it was warm enough we can dig holes in the garden boxes and plant the little plants!

Sometimes we think mom is causing so much trouble for dad and us!

You won't believe the next thing that has been happening . . .

Mom said she was aggravated to the point of action so she's been doing this thing called politics.  Furst she went to a County Convention and was the leader of a meeting cuz she is something called a Precinct Captain.  Then they both went to this thing called a State Convention.  At least this time mom stayed in her seat, except when she was standing.

I know this is a long post BUTT there's still more!

Remember how we get those inversions in the winter time and our air pollution gets really bad?  Well mom got what she calls "fed up" and she went to a City Council meeting and now our town has a clean air committee.  Mom is organizing the first meeting now.

And she is still trying to find time to finish making the bed runners for me and Stanley to have on the foot of the bed.  She said she might have to dust it off!

Now in case you think that is all, you are wrong.  Mom and dad also bought new bikes and have been bike riding.  They went 41 miles the furst week (and they have only had them less than 2 weeks).  Mom named her bike Lila.

And they also invite friends!

And there is STILL more . . . Do you remember the wonderful bag our furend Abby sent us (we filled it with toys & treats for the Grand Canyon and it holds tons!)? Well, we will need to use it again cuz now our pawrents are talking about a trip to the Redwoods (likely June)!

Usually, we don't take our big trip until August but mom said we needed to get it done earlier because . . . and you will not believe this . . . even though they graduated decades ago mom and dad are going back to school!

It turns out that there is a program that allows really, really, really old people to audit REAL university classes for only a $10 administration fee!  As long as the class doesn't fill up (and the professor says it likely won't) they are going to take a class in Meteorology starting the Fall Semester!

So you can see why all of this has been exhausting for me and Stanley.  Mom's excuses are a real burden for us!

Mom said she will take us around Blogville to say hello and catch up a bit.  We hope everyone is doing well!
