Lighthouse & Fellowship of the Rock

On Saturday we went to a lighthouse.  You can see Mayor Arty's mom waving.

Here is the Mayoral dad waiting.

Here's the rest of us waiting.

After the lighthouse, we took a little hike to see the Octopus Tree.  Mom didn't get new pictures of it cuz she had them from last year. Then we went on a mission that K10 named "Fellowship of the Rock".

Before we left camp we found a special rock.  We wrote on it all the bad troubles one of our blogger pals has had over the past year or two.  It was our mission to take the rock, with those troubles written on it, and throw it to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.  (A picture of the rock has already been sent to the blogger so we will leave them un-named.)

Furst we went to a beach and walked to the end of the beach and went through a cave opening.  Me and Stanley went through and so did Mayor Arty and Jakey.  Then Sam . . .

Then K10

Then Sirene (Mayoral Mom)

Then we walked to the edge of the rocky beach.  K10 saw that the tide was in and the area she planned to scale was now under water.

But without hesitation, she jumped into the pounding waves and made her way to the rock formation in the ocean.  She climbed to the top . . .

And she threw the rock with all those troubles on it into the ocean!

Later that night we all decided we needed to see the sunset on our beach.  It was really windy and Jakey asked his dad to keep him warm.

Mayor Arty's ears were blowing in the wind too!

So everyone quietly waited for the sun to drop from the sky.  We knew it was our last night together.

We knew that tomorrow we would all say goodbye.

I think it may have been the Engineer that named it the Fellowship of the Rock. I am not geeky enough to come up with that!

Love that you captured the rock in the air!
