On to the Columbia River Gorge! This is a big river that divides Oregon & Washington. We stayed on the Oregon side.
Now, first of all, we did NOT try to kill mom! Our defense is that she is very old and clumsy! What happened was that when we got to the park and dad was setting up the wheelie house he went to pull forward onto the levelers (see straight arrow).
Mom was standing with us by the pole (curved arrow). When dad went to pull forward, mom was going to yell when the tire was on the leveler. BUTT the tire did NOT go on top of the leveler, instead it scooted it forward and made a VERY scary noise! Me and Stanley did NOT know what it was, we thought it was a lion so we got the heck out of there! Unfortunately, our leashes went around mom's ankles and pulled her down into (and onto) the road. Oops!
There was a nice trail in our campground.
And a nice view!
We went to the Bonneville Dam.
They had a window where a guy sits all day counting fish!
There were locks but we couldn't get close to them.
There was a fish ladder but we didn't catch any fish climbing it but there were.
We also did some hikes to the falls. This was only part way up. It was very steep!
Still not to the top!
Oops, another falls.
When we got to the top of the falls we were hot and needed to cool off our paws!
Stanley found a cave!
We posed by the sign. It was Oregon's largest falls - Multnomah Falls
After we left there was a huge wildfire in this area.
Stanley gave dad a kiss.
The wildfire also affected where we went next, the Pacific Crest trail!

oh what an adventure!!! I love the mighty water... and the fish ladder... I hope they will not hire my mama for counting the fishies... that would end very weird hehehe
It would have been a pretty place to die -teehee! It looks marvellous!
Oh wow! Good thing you didn't kill Mum! And that everything else went okay. Love all the falls and cooling down in the water must be the best after a hard day's work!

That was totally NOT your fault. There was a skeery noise, what else were you supposed to do?!?!
Well, as long as everyone is ok now! Right? Wow, what a beautiful part of the world!
Yours sincerely,

The 'accident' with your mom was DEFINITELY NOT your fault! Now, that said....what a gorgeous place for a hike. We're sad a fire went near it.
What a beautiful place to hike. Hope your mom did not get hurt. We know you were just trying to save her from that scary noise

I'm so glad your mom didn't get seriously hurt!!!! I can understand how scary those noises can be. Lovely area that we haven't been to before.

Whew, that was a close one for your Mom. We hope she didn't get hurt at all. Mom loves seeing all the falls - so cool!!! And those horrid fires, we hope they are all out soon.

We totally understand your reaction to that strange noise. That trip to the top of the falls wore us out just reading about it but what a beautiful view.
We're glad your Mom was not hurt worse - I understand scary noises. When I hear something called an "Am Bull Lance" I HOWL!

That looked like a wonderful day. You didn't trip you Mom, you made sure she did not fall under the wheelie.
I love waterfalls and there are so many beautiful ones in the Pacific NW. It was considerate of y'all to help mom hit the ground in case it was gunfire that you heard! Just sayin'...
I hope counting fishies is not like counting sheep, or they would have to hire someone else to keep waking up the guy counting the fishies. We are all very glad you did not succeed in killing your Mama.
Wow! What an amazing place!
