Checking In

Sorry we haven't been around much lately.  First dad got sick, then he sneezed and coughed all over mom and then she got sick too.  Me and Stanley have had to take care of EVERYTHING!  Even when we had a birfday and turned 5 years old there was no pawty!

So mom said they will make it up to us for our GOTCHA day next month.  They owe us lots of ice cream for our suffering!

Now our weather has finally warmed up so maybe mom won't whine so much.  A lot of our snow melted so we have bare spots and spots with 2 feet of snow.  It is supposed to all be gone by the weekend and we will have another wonderful thing . . . MUD!

Don't tell our wimmen but me and Stanley went to the Dollar expensive jewelry store and bought a pressie for our ladies.  We're really looking forward to Valentine's Day.  Speaking of that, we had over 80 RSVP's to the K-oss event!  We hope the Art Department didn't mess anything up while the manager was sick!

We had some bad news yesterday when we found out that Dad's SIL (brother's wife) died.  It was not anticipated so it was a shock. She had turned 76 years old just days prior.

So mom and dad are still coughing but otherwise feeling much better.   Maybe now they'll get back to concentrating on us!

Murphy & Stanley

Mud is good fun, although I can't remember the last time I played in it. I did jump in puddles though, back in 1993, when according to some I was a grown-up and should know better! Some people just don't get it!

  19. Oh dear Dooz, I do hope your Mom and Dad are better soon. Gail has been doing a lot of that sniffing and sneezing business this week too. But I have to say I am super impressed at your initiative in taking advantage of their indisposition to sneak off to the expensive jewellery shop...
    Toodle pip!
PS Gail sends condolences for the sudden loss of your Dad's SIL.

  20. We feel very sad that they couldn't even rally for your birthday. Happy Birthday, from us.

  22. We're so sorry to hear about your Dad's SIL. :(
Our mom brought a cold home from when she was on Jury Duty; she and Dad are STILL getting over it! Sharing isn't always a good thing, apparently.
    Yours sincerely,
    Margaret Thatcher

  23. Wow, Doods, your peeps needs some serious hugs and POTP so I'm sending bunches. My peeps shared the flu at New Year's and I feel your pain. They're useless when sick. BOL Can't wait for the big K-oss party!

  24. Mom says to tell your Mom and Dad how sorry she is to hear they lost a family member. That is never easy. Sorry we missed your birthday. With both Mom and Dad out with that crud recently there were a lot of chores to get caught up on. Hope your gotcha day is fabulous!

  25. Sending lots of healing vibes to your parents. Hope they feel better soon.

  26. Hoping Mom and Dad are on the mend soon!!!! DakotasDen

  27. I love the "censored" part of the photo. I've been sick too, and now our snow is turning to mush. It's my turn to whine.

I'm so sorry about your dad's SIL.

  28. So sorry your pawrents were sick. I'm sure you guys took care of everything nicely while they were. We're seeing crocuses this week so even if spring is around the corner, there'll probably be a snow storm or two along the way.

Don't just sniff around, leave your mark with a comment so we know you've stopped by. Wags!!
