Some Photos

We're getting things back to normal now that our vacation is over.  I thought I would show you a few photos.  This one shows how rugged the coast is in Oregon.  There are beaches but the water is cold, the wind blows strong, and the outside temperatures don't support beachwear most of the time.  Butt, it is beautiful!

Se caught this fella taking a nap.

These are boats chasing whales at Depoe Bay.  We watched them from the shore where we saw our whale.

Trillium Falls Trail at the Redwoods National Park.  Dory's brother Arty like to hike here.  We love the lush Redwood forest.  It is so different from our dry trails here!

We loved all the new smells!

It was like a jungle!

We did not get any photos of the giant trees (we have them from prior trips).

After we finished our hike of the falls, we stopped at the fountain by the restrooms and while dad was filling up our water dish, a baby bat fell from above the roof! It missed landing on Stanley by inches!  Mom did not get a picture cuz she was busy making sure no other bats were coming.  Then it crawled a few inches into a crevice under the wall.  And then the next day when we went to a RV park (on our way home) Stanley was looking for a place to pee and found a baby birdie who had fallen from its nest. Must be something about Stanley!

Mom grew up around there and she remembers the trips to the redwoods as well. There was this one place in Northern California that had a big Paul Bunyon statue with Babe the Blue Ox. Her brother would get really excited and yell "Tall Onion! Tall Onion! as her parents pulled into the lot.

Stunning!
Believe me, Bertie and I know ALL ABOUT beaches where the temperatures don't support beachwear. Or rather, 'beachwear' (for the humans) is redefined as a windproof fleece, gloves and a woolly hat.
Cheers!

Oh a place of incredible beauty - but then so is the place you live... it is always nice to have the eyes rested in different scenery though, is it not? Mind you, baby critters falling from the roof sounds a tad hazardous!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

Hi there, Love seeing the photos-such a beautiful area. Glad the bat didn't land on either of you-they can carry lots of diseases. Hope you have a great evening.

Crikey everyone ..... keep your babies away from Stanley. Those pictures are truly beautiful. Are you jokin???? You didn't get any pictures of giant trees. I like that jungle and those LITTLE trees and the beach is beautiful even if you can't swim there. Well I guess that bloke lolling on the rocks swims there from time to time.

there is just something so special about redwoods - when Mom lived in San Francisco she use to go to Muir woods all the time - she loved the clean fresh air there

Looks like a beautiful, exciting trip you had! Mom would love to see a seal like that...and the redwoods (she LOVES that kinda stuff). She's crossing her fingers that maybe one day we'll BOTH be able to.

Holy adventure! What kind of pee-mail was on that tree? I bet there were 87 pee-mails on it. Bats? Almost landing on Stanley?! I can't even imagine.

All the photos that you took are so breath taking,,, and yes,, thats my Oregon,
Those tall trees that you took photos of-- that is how my forest looks,, Like a jungle,, except there are deer paths.
The ocean,, oh the ocean and the whales!! Yes,, I have seen them too,,
Its been 2 years now since I was at the ocean,,, moms think the trip over there in the car might be too miuch for me,, since I am a little fragile,, But I remember it well. And every photo you took and shared- felt like a hug to me,!
I am glad you got to see some wilderness, and big oceans, I love Depot Bay- and all the shops.
We live a few hours from Lincoln City in a town called Molalla , where the big trees grow,

Thank you for sharing the photos.
