It showed up on their site, again. This is so frustrating! Someone on the Facebook Pet Blogging Support group suggested that they might have that blog set up like an RSS reader and that's how it's copying stuff.

It is a feeder, you can see it on their blog and they have now stolen a post from Dawg Business!

Oh, no! This sort of rotten behavior is NOT allowed in Blogville. Bastards is definitely right. Well, we know the REAL Murphy and Stanley and the others can just go take a leap.

So sorry this happened.

Wow, what a thing to have happened to you. Your stuff was taken from the internet.

Dear Murphy and Stanley.
You had no back up's or no water marks on any of your photo's ? Things happen.

Can I just add, IF you do not want any of your own contents stolen from your own web site or blogger post, then water mark your photo's.Do all you can to track the contents of what you have posted. It can be done.
It goes on the web and it is fair game to anyone. It's up to you what you do to protect your own contents. No good moaning about it well after the event. Luvs x

Doods, two things are apparent from the appearance of this post over there (not that I have looked but clearly others have) is
a) anyone reading there will see your outrage and know the blog for what it is .. and
b) it is clearly not being run 'live' and is indeed just a robot page.

I am going to share here the two links I sent you by email last evening so that others may read them and make their own plans around this thing.
This techy one
and This slightly more user-friendly one.

Watermarking photographs does not necessarily cut down theft but is a deterrent; though there are some real sharks who go to the effort of trimming images of the marking - which is why I am starting to place the marking in places on the image which make this tricky for them.

Another thing is that, when putting links anywhere in your blog (or in comments as I just did) it is important to utilise the HTML command "nofollow" in the link which also cuts down the phishers....

Oh my - so much effort; then again it does no harm to have prods to wake us up to the need for continual self-education! May I suggest, your doodships, that we spread our own version of this post throughout Blogville? If everyone puts up a small and sharp post re-establishing their right to the content and images they post** (whether or not they think anything has been stolen) it will help to build one of the 'appropriate barriers' our community requires?

Hmmmmm think I need to build a full post around this..... Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

oopss, the ** was about the fact that if we ourselves use 'borrowed' stuffs, which we all do from time to time, it is very important to acknowledge the source, otherwise we ourselves become 'content scrapers'...Yxx
