The Dead Body - A Serious Story

When we were gone and trying to post from mom's phone, we mentioned a dead body.  Mom told us about it and showed us where it happened.   Here is the REAL and TRUE story as mom explained to us.  Mom spent the first 18 years of her life in Indiana.  All but the last few years she lived in a place that was just a bit more than an hour from Chicago.  She says an hour from Chicago will get you lots and lots of this . . .

Yes, mom was a child of the corn and loves corn fields.  But, on to our story . . . Here is the house she lived in for most of those years . . .

She lived there with 2 sisters and 2 brothers.  Mom says it was a tight fit.  During the day, mom and her siblings would spend the day exploring or riding their bikes.  One of the places they often went was a place called West Creek.  Here it is . . .

Mom's brother and younger sister would go there to fish or look for worms.  Mom went there to smoke.  On this day her brother, sister and a friend were walking along the banks of West Creek looking for worns. They saw a car stop on the bridge and throw something off.  But they were quite a ways from the bridge at that point.  This is the bridge where the car stopped.

This is a view of the bridge looking back on where they lived.  Mom says it was in the Boondocks.

When the kids gave up looking for worms and came back to the bridge, they came across the dead body on the same trail they had taken to hunt worms.  This is a view of where the body was thrown over.

So the kids went running home to tell their parents.  Then the rest of the family went to the bridge (to see if it was REAL) and notified police.  Yes, it was real.  Mom could see the woman's broken leg sort of sticking up pointing to the sky.  She didn't feel the need to get any closer.

As it turned out the woman had gotten an illegal abortion by a physician in Chicago.  She died as a result of the procedure and he dumped her body in hopes of not having to deal with the reality of the situation.   So now you know the story of when mom's brother found the dead body.

PSA - Tick Removal

Unfortunately we learned a lot about tick removal.  The final count (we hope) is 5 ticks for Stanley and 2 for dad.  We think Stanley must have brushed into a nest or something. We learned that the tick does not transmit disease right away. This system is better than burning the tick cuz with burning the tick it basically spits into the skin and transmits pathogens into the host before it dies. We sure hope the medicine we treated him with keeps him safe from disease!

Here is the method we used and it worked very well. You may have seen it on Facebook.  Click HERE.

A Box of Rocks

Most of you have probably seen a lot of the photos from BAR. So you probably already know that Oreo's mom secretly planned a surprise birfday pawty for our mom.  We will be sharing photos of some of the stuffs Blogville residents gave her butt furst we want to show you what Oreo and his mom did.  Yup, they gave mom a box of rocks!  There are 60 of them to be exact and they all have something written on them.  Oreo's mom is very creative like that!

So mom took them, one by one, and read what they said.  Then she carefully placed each one in the rock garden where dad puts special rocks he finds.

She appreciated the thought Oreo and his mom put into this gift as well as all the effort to organize the surprise pawty!  Mom said she could tell that Oreo and his mom put a lot of thought into the pawty, making it very personal.  Oreo's mom even did a "This Is Your Life" sort of thing.  Mom said that part made her really nervous - BOL!

So here is where mom will see the rocks, every time she walks out the front door.  She said she will remember the pawty and how sweet Oreo and his mom were.

And of course everyone who came to BAR and all of Blogville also pawticipated in the surprise pawty.  Oreo and his mom put together a wonderful scrapbook of cards, photos, and nice words from furends all over the world!

As we get more organized we will share more with you BUTT right now we want to thank everyone for their cards and the other stuffs they sent to our mom.

THANK YOU OREO & DIANA
&
THANK YOU BLOGVILLE!!

Pee Ess - We also want to thank Easy for taking care of Blogville while we were gone.  We haven't been into the office yet butt since Blogville Pawlice have the place wired with security cameras we will be able to check to make sure there were no problems.  So far we haven't heard anything specific but an anonymous letter was sent to us saying we should check for chaos.  We do not understand what that means!  Easy told us everything was smooth as butter!

Wrapping Up

Our pawrents were running and saw this tractor. It is a 1949 Ford,  used on golf courses. The man told mom all about it and how Jack Nicholas used one in a commercial years ago.

We are wrapping up things here in Indiana and will head west in the morning.

Mom wants Hailey and Phod to know that she and dad got new phones when they switched to Verizon. Mom came back from a run and tried to open it. She did not know that the setting to erase all data after 15 failed attempts to  open the phone was activated.  She had 4 left when she noticed it. It didn't recognize her sweaty fingerprints.  All her vacation photos are on the phone!!  If she failed 4 more times they would be erased!!!  So she used the advice that  "The Man"  gave her and it saved the day!!
