Hot Dogs!

It has been kinda hot here lately.  Last month was tied for the hottest month of June on record! Mom and dad won't take us ANYWHERE cuz they say it's too hot.  Mom says the sidewalks are too hot for walkies!  BUTT we are making our pawrents get up extra early tomorrow so me and Stanley can go for a run.  So in the meantime . . .

We are dreaming of the ocean . . .

Wheelie House Life

We love our new little wheelie house, even though it gets as hot as an oven when it is in the full sun.  BTW, for those who saw just how hot it gets you might be shocked to know that when we moved up north to another place the A/C about froze us out!  There was a tree that shaded 1 side (the side with all the windows) and the sun hit on the front and back of the trailer instead of that window side.  We thought we were in a meat locker for a week!  Yup, it got and stayed VERY COLD!  Anyway, every morning we sit at the table for breakfast.  Here is me patiently waiting . . .

We have dog beds but lots of times we prefer the couch.

I like the extra room to stretch out.

We still do our neighborhood watch.

Here we are in the truck.  It pulls the wheelie house and dad is an expert at it.

We always sleep when we travel.  Mom says we are easy travelers.  We only wake up when we stop for gas.

We're excited to go on our next trip - the ocean!

Sasquatch

One day when we were in Indiana, we stopped by mom's niece's house and met a Golden fellow named Rebel.  Me and Stanley were kinda unsteady around him cuz he was HUGE! His paws were as big as dinner plates!  Mom said it was the furst time she noticed that Stanley was NOT a big dog (even though he thinks he is).  Here is Rebel acting pawfessional.

While the hoomans sat around the table Rebel would rest his giant head.

One time when he put his paw on Stanley to get him to play, Stanley about jumped out of his furs and screamed that Rebel tried to punch him!  Mom said he was greatly exaggerating and Rebel was just extending a friendly paw but after that we called Rebel "Sasquatch".

Sasquatch had a rubber piggy he liked to play with and when he did he would make a rumbling noise that sounded like it came from so deep that it might erupt and kill us all!  Mom said we were being ridiculous.  We posed with Sasquatch even though we knew it was risky and at any moment he might sniff one of us.

One thing Stanley really liked was that Sasquatch had a HUGE food dish (it was about as big as a kiddie pool or maybe even bigger) and it was filled to the top with the most delicious kibble.  Stanley kept helping himself and Sasquatch didn't care (he said "sharing is caring").  Here is Sasquatch with his mom.  Those shoes belong to Sasquatch and he wears them on his giant paws.

I just played it safe and stayed on mom's lap.  I wasn't taking any chances that Sasquatch might sniff me.  Here I am giving some Doodle therapy to another niece.  I changed her life with that therapy.

When we went in the yard and saw a giant poop (it was at least as long as a hooman arm) we respected Sasquatch a lot for that. He does good work! We had fun even if Sasquatch made us kinda nervous.

Elsie

While we were in northern Indiana our mom said she wanted to take us over to see her Aunt M.  She also said we would meet a doggie named Elsie.  Elsie is supposed to be a cocker/French Bulldog mix but we don't know about that!

They said Elsie was a little crazy but we think she is just young.  Those 9 month old pups are a little nutty but it should wear off - or not!  While we were there Uncle D showed us the fish pond in their backyard.

Stanley said he almost had a fish before he had to get out of the pond.  I tried to sneak in a bit later but mom caught me and told me to get away from it.  Rats, another missed opportunity!  But we think Aunt M really liked us.  She thought Stanley was MELLOW!

Elsie really does make monkey sounds!  She has a big ball and she throws it around and makes noises like a monkey.

It was fun to visit our Aunt and Uncle and crazy Elsie too.

More BAR

Before the time ran out on us we wanted to get the dog photos that you have probably already seen on other blogs.  We have tons of bloopers on this!  The photos changed as dogs came and went into the shot.  This furst one is of our top administration.  The mayors & City Manager.

We hurried and snapped this photo when we saw Phod's response to the SIT command . . . Yes, he was laughing!

Oreo and his mom had a great idea to do some picture frame photos.  This is the BAR organizing committee.

As we were nearing the end some folks tried to sneak away without hugs.  Ha! Not in Blogville!

We continued our photo fun.

We had our Friendship Ceremony (video on BAR blog).  Friendship is everything in Blogville!

That was the official end of our historic gathering.  It was sad to tell everyone goodbye and see the shelter empty with only our memories remaining.

A few of us who weren't leaving until the following morning gathered at the campground at Hailey & Phod's place.

But Phod was ready to drive off in the death machine the next morning.

So we said goodbye to the last of our pals.

The next morning we packed up the little wheelie house and headed north for another week.  Our time at BAR lies furever in our hearts and minds!
