Our Picture

Remember a few weeks ago when we got our pictures taken for the church directory?  Well, we got our picture the other day.  This is the one that will be in the directory along with our names.

As you can see me and Stanley dress up more than our mom and dad.  Mom says that is cuz we are mayorz and she and dad are just regular people.

OK, now I am gonna say something that you gotta keep a secret!  Remember that certain thingie that we emailed you about a few weeks ago?  If you did NOT get an email and want to know, just leave us your email addy and we will get you the info.  Anyway, it had to do with a certain blog hop that we are going to do THIS Saturday.  You will need to pop over to Oz's place to get on the hop (it's the 2nd one down).  Your post will have to show a certain thingie in it that will be of special interest to a certain couple of furends who moved from their hill TODAY.  OK, that is all I can say in this public forum.  If you know about it, that is enough to remind you.  If you do NOT know about it and want to pawticipate then you will just have to email us, or Madi, or Dory, or Sarge. Shhhhhhhh!

Little Wheelie House

This is the story of our Little Wheelie House.  When mom posted on Facebook that they were going to sell it, people started jumping like crazy!  People were willing to come from Arizona, Texas, and Kentucky.  There were 2 local people who wanted it too.  So the first one is from Arizona and we are waiting for them to work out the work schedules and child care so they can come get it.  

In the meantime, our pawrents have visited like 87 dealerships and looked at 10 million trailers. They had one they liked and thought that one was "IT" but then realized me and Stanley needed more floor space.  Mom says it is a trade off between space and the willingness to pull a long trailer.  Our Little Wheelie House is 24 feet (plus another 3 feet for hitch). The probable new one is 2 feet longer but it has a long (3') slide that is equivalent to 2 slides.  The couch and dinette are the long slide.

The first photo just shows the style of freestanding table and chairs that will go in ours, instead of the booth-type table that is shown in the photos.  All the other stuff in the photos (flooring, fabric pattern, etc. is the same as what we will have).

Since I have my own barking window at home I think this will make an excellent barking window.  I can bark out the giant window or be more discrete and bark out the side windows.

This is where mom can prepare our treats.  OK, who are we kidding?  This kitchen will probably never get used other than the microwave and fridge.

This shows that there is a door to the bathroom & bedroom off the kitchen and living space.

This kind of shows that there is ample wrestling room on the floor for me and Stanley.  Plus, it is long enough I can do a little indoor fetching.  Remember the booth will be a table & chairs in ours.

This is the couch where Stanley will take naps.  At night we'll sleep with mom and dad but this will suffice during the daytime.

This is a queen size bed where me and Stanley will sleep.  Our pawrents can put a blanket on the little night stands under the closets and curl up there. Is that the most stupid looking headboard you have ever seen?  Mom said it was OK if we chewed it off the wall.

For some reason mom is giddy about this.  It is a linen closet in the bathroom. You can see the tip of the toilet at the very bottom.

So there you have it, our probable new wheelie house.  Our pawrents are working with the salesman to get everything ready so when it is time to order it, they have it ready to go (having sorted out options, etc.).  There is a RV show in 2 weeks that might offer additional incentives.  If they make the deal sweeter they will order it at the RV show.  Otherwise, they will not order it until late November cuz mom says they can delay paying on taxes if they don't withdraw the money to pay for it until after January 1st.  So in the meantime, me and Stanley are suffering without a wheelie house!

BOO! From Chewy

The other day we got a special delivery from Chewy!  When we opened the door to take the package from the delivery dog, a ghost came in!  So we knew this was a special Halloween treat fur sure!

So we opened the box and guess what was in it?  It was BOO BARS!

We got all excited about this.  I mean who doesn't get excited about Halloween and having a bunch of little kids knock on your door and say you're cute?  Butt mom said we needed to look more Halloweenish before we could try them out.  So while we were changing, mom checked out the ingredients:  Oatmeal, Barley, Oat Flour, Pumpkin, Flaxseed (source of Omega 3 and 6 Fatty Acids), Cane Molasses, Carrots, Salt, Canola Oil (source of Omega 6 Fatty Acids), Cinnamon, Calcium Carbonate, L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate (source of Vitamin C), preserved with Mixed Tocopherols and Oil of Rosemary, Vitamin E Supplement

OK, there were words some we couldn't pronounce but mostly we can't pronounce any words so it wasn't an issue. The company says it it is:

Our Dog Park

It seems the newspaper is spending a lot of time on our dog park this past week!  We printed out the whole article but added a link too in case you want to click it.  In the first article, they wrote it without actually talking to mom or the mayor.  Everything was taken off Facebook pages (for the Dog Park & Mayor). The second one is actually the Editorial that was in Friday's newspaper.

NORTH OGDEN — The city’s new dog park is so popular that parking has become a problem.

The park, at 2600 North and 850 East, has eight designated spaces, and dog owners aren’t supposed to park along 2600 North or from the park to the corner of 850 East. But residents living on those streets say it’s happening anyway.

Since the park opened in May, it has been more popular than city officials expected. Police have been patrolling the area and residents have been telling visitors where designated parking is available, to little avail.

“We somehow need to reorient the signs and red-stripe the curb (at 850 East),” City Councilman Phil Swanson said. “The neighborhood is tired of being the parking police.”

People have complained on both sides of the issue with long Facebook posts on both the mayor’s and dog park’s pages. The city council and mayor also have received complaints in person.

“The dog park has been a big success and we are happy for that, But the parking situation is what it is and is not going to change anytime soon,” Mayor Brent Taylor said.

Expanding the parking lot would cost about $40,000 and the city has no plans to do that.

“If there are not enough spots, people can walk to the dog park or park their cars at the Barker Park parking lot and walk to the dog park. Or come back at a later time,” Taylor said.

Barker Park is across 2600 North, about a block away, but the parking is further south, about two blocks.

Parking isn’t the only problem. Some patrons aren’t keeping their dogs on a leash before getting to the park and some allow dogs to defecate on lawns or by other cars.

The city recently informed Carol Campbell, one of the organizers who made the dog park possible, that the North Ogden Police Department would be stepping up patrols in the area, enforcing parking rules and the leash law. Campbell also is encouraging patrons to bring bags from home in case the cleanup stations at the park run out.

Campbell posted on the Facebook page and spoke at several city council meetings to report volunteers are still learning how to run the park to minimize conflict with the city and residents.

Resident Aubrey Obrey wrote on Facebook that she knows the parking is not ideal but she appreciates Taylor keeping his promise to monitor traffic near her home on 850 East.

One thing has been made clear by city officials — no parking will be allowed on 2600 North for the dog park, no matter what. Swanson suggested that the police be especially vigilant about ticketing those parking there.

When it comes to the com­plaints about park­ing ac­cess to the new, very pop­u­lar dog park in North Og­den, we agree with the sen­ti­ments ex­pressed by that city’s mayor, Brent Tay­lor.

“The dog park has been a big suc­cess and we are happy for that. But the park­ing sit­u­a­tion is what it is and is not go­ing to change any­time soon,” said the mayor.

There are cur­rently eight spaces set aside to park at the park at 2600 North and 850 East. Res­i­dents who live there have said that dog own­ers are park­ing along 2600 North and from the park to the cor­ner of 850 East. That’s sup­posed to be off lim­its.

It would sim­ply cost too much for North Og­den to ex­pand park­ing di­rectly at the park. But this should not be a prob­lem. Those walk­ing their dogs have ac­cess to park­ing. As Tay­lor adds:

“If there are not enough spots, peo­ple can walk to the dog park or park their cars at the Barker Park park­ing lot and walk to the dog park. Or come back at a later time,” says the mayor.

He’s right. There is park­ing two blocks away, fur­ther south. People who are al­ready walk­ing their dogs, and hav­ing the an­i­mals en­joy the dog park, should not have con­cerns about walk­ing the pets two blocks. In our opin­ion, the dogs would love the ex­tra walk­ing time and at­ten­tion.

Pet own­ers need to be aware that the North Og­den Po­lice Depart­ment is plan­ning to in­crease its pa­trols of the dog park area.

City park­ing rules and leash laws will be en­forced. The ex­tra two blocks to walk if the park­ing ac­cess is full needs to be­come the norm. The pub­lic has had time to be aware of what’s le­gal and what is not.

Dog parks im­prove the qual­ity of liv­ing for our com­mu­ni­ties. We’re very pleased that the North Og­den dog park is a big suc­cess. But the rights of the res­i­dents who live there, as well as the city’s park­ing laws, need to be re­spected as well.

A Call, A Dance & A New Wheelie House

Madi called us on the "red phone" in the mayor's office.  That is a special phone that ONLY former mayors have the number for so you know it is an impawtent call.  It even scared us to hear it ring!

It turned out she just was worried that we fell off the earth or something!  Isn't Blogville wonderful? We assured her we were fine but our pawrents were up to mischief!  This Little Wheelie House business is far from over!  But that is for later.  On to other impawtent things . . .

OMD!  Did you hear the big news?  There's gonna be a dance called a Sadie Hawkins dance on October 1st, hosted by Dory.  Now anyone who knows Dory knows she KNOWS how to throw a pawty so we are pawsitive it is gonna be a blast!  And you KNOW what it means when it is called Sadie Hawkins right?  It means the girls gotta ask the boys!  Yup!  So you girls better pick out a fella and get asking!  And you fellas who are available better start leaving hints around so the girls will know it!

OK, now I will tell you this about the Little Wheelie House business.  As you remember, our pawrents cancelled our next trip and said they were selling our Little Wheelie House that took us on many adventures.  This was a disaster cuz me and Stanley were planning on taking it to the BAR in June!

Well as it turns out, they are buying another Little Wheelie House.  Mom finally showed us some pictures.  She said it had room for our beds, a few toys, and some treats.  Huh?  Did she say a "few" toys and "some" treats?  So me and Stanley went through the pictures and then asked mom, "Mom is there enough room here for me and Stanley to wrestle for awhile after supper?"  Mom looked at dad and dad looked at mom and at the same exact time they both said "Oh crap . . . "

Secret Weapon

Me and Stanley are gonna get groomed today. Mom says my "hooker lashes" have gotten out of control. They're only a couple inches long!  My long lashes are my secret weapon.  When I bat them at mom she is defenseless to deny me!
