As you may know, it's time for the 2014 Winter Olympics! And of course, here in Blogville nothing happens without us celebrating it in pure Blogville fashion. We thank Frankie & Ernie for kicking off our Olympic celebrations!
This year, since me and Stanley are all growed up and 2 years old, we were excited to be invited to pawticipate in the Winter Olympics in Sochi. We had a long flight to get there, and got hung up with some illegal yogurt shipment that wasn't allowed in the country, but we finally made it! Here we are in the Parade of Athletes.
We pawticipated in a few events. We weren't prepared to do ice skating but after reading Frankie & Ernie's post we found out it was MANDATORY. When the Olympic judges told us that, me and Stanley looked at each other and said, "YIKES!" But being Doodles, we gave it our best shot!
Actually, it turned out pretty good and our score was high enough we might have won a medal! Stanley did really well too (especially considering he only had 2 skates). After that was an event I am really experienced at: Snowboarding!
When I caught that air I think I heard the crowd gasp. It was pretty exciting! For our last event, this was the one we REALLY thought we had nailed down, we did Bobsledding. We thought we had a stellar pawformance. We flew down the hill at the sped of light (and that is 186,000 miles/minute in case you didn't know). NO team even came close to us! We were headed for a gold medal but then the judges DISQUALIFIED us! "What?" we shouted, "on what grounds?" The judges went on to say that our bobsled was NOT qualified because it did not meet the official Olympic specifications. We argued with the judges and pointed out that you could NOT have a more official bobsled than OUR Bobsled. But in the end we lost the appeal and did not get the medal. Do you think the judges made a fair decision?
Let the games begin!
