The Hike

As I told you yesterday, mom and dad took off on a hike without me and Stanley yesterday.  It was SUPPOSED to be a 16 mile hike (see yesterday's post).
The trail is rated difficult, it has some tough parts but mom says the length is the hardest part.
Mom said it didn't take too long before they knew the odds of getting wet were pretty good.
But mom and dad weren't too worried, they had rain gear with them.
Their big concern was lightening.  Mom called that a deal breaker.
Luckily there never was lightning but there was rain and wind.  Not everyone in the group was prepared for it to be cold and wet.
There were lots of wildflowers in bloom.
There is a great view from that high!
Sometimes the trail is "clean", other times there is a lot of plants along the sides.  Mom says the worst parts have lots of rocks.
The destination!  Unfortunately, they had to turn back 2 miles before getting to the peak.  The wind and rain got too bad to continue (and they didn't know if it was going to get even worse).  But mom said it was 11.5 miles and they got dirty and muddy and had fun anyway.  It would have been pawfect for me and Stanley!!

Mom at end of hike. I missed her a lot and she missed us like crazy too.
Anyway, we hope mom and dad learned their lesson and take us next time!

At least you guys got some rain! We had lots of clouds but no rain. However, the no rain meant we got in our full allotment of walkies and frisbee time!

They should learn to never leave you two at home again. You would have had a great time rain or not.

P.S. Thanks for the compliments on our garden, but our dad wants us to let you know that he does most of the work not mom. ;-)

Murphy and Stanley the vistas were amazing and so worth the hike but absolutely nothing is as much fun unless you two are with them.

Gnarly Peeps! Even 11.5 miles up hill is fantastic!
Good thing they let you two Doodles have the day off!
I don't like hiking when there is lightning, too!
