Take Your Dog To Church

Yesterday we went to church with our pawrents.  The 3rd week of the month is the Sunday we get to go to church.  We have gone to church ever since we were tiny puppies.  So like any regular church goer, we know the order of things.  First things first, we arrive early so we can attack Goose's mom.  She likes it when we do this and we like it too.

Stanley is a bit enthusiastic.
I get in on the action too.  Every pic mom took was blurry because we are pretty frenzied at this point and Goose's mom doesn't make us act like the gentle Doods we are.
We think the windows in the sanctuary are beautiful.  One day we would like windows like this in the Doodle Clubhouse.
The band was in good form.  Stanley sang through most of the first song.
I'm well behaved and sit nicely in the pew. (This was actually before most people and dogs arrived.)
Stanley likes to greet the other dogs.  Notice we wore our western bandanas because Utah has a big holiday this week and Pioneer Days are a big deal.
Pretty soon it was time for Goose's mom to preach.  She taught us about Mary and Martha and that we need to play with Jesus.

We also had dancers!  They danced to a song and it was BEAUTIFUL!
Their capes made them look like winged angels!
I might have dozed a bit but I think I was just listening and praying real hard.
Some other dogs were there too.  We didn't get pictures of them all.
This was a new dog.  We never met him before but he was real nice.
Cole (or it might be Coal), is a regular member.  She is very nice.

We love going to church and wish every dog could go to church too!

Oh it was a great day at church. Those dancers were just wonderful. MOM thought they looked like golden butterflies. We think all does should be able to go to church if they want. And I know you were praying and not snoozen. So glad you boys are back.

Hey Murphy & Stanley!
Wow, that's so cool that you get to go to Goose's church! I wish I could go with you. I don't blame you one bit...if I saw Goose's Mom, I'd be so excited and fall all over her too. Gee, and a band and dancers too. Sounds like an excellent day!

That's so awesome! One time, when I was a teenager and Chloe was MUCH younger (like, she might have been 3 or 4), my dad brought her to our old church to pick me up from a youth group thing. He had her on the leash, and what did she do? She peed on the carpet in the foyer! That was the last time she went to church!! Haha!

Glad you doods are better behaved at church than Chloe was! Riley's never been to church because the church we go to now is super crowded and has a really loud band and no space for dogs in the sanctuary. Oh well. Maybe Riley could watch one of those Sunday morning church services that come on TV!

You guys are so so so lucky. I would just love to go to church. Do they let you go to play with the kids too? I feel like I would be a really good children's ministry volunteer!

Mom always says "re-entry is hard" right after she gets back from a good vacation. Probably helped to get to go to church!

OMDogness, I could never bring Chico to church because he likes to bark at everyone! Well, not people, but he likes to bark at dogs for sure. I'm glad to see that you're much more well-behaved!

I don't think dogs are allowed in our churches here, but if they met up with you two good and well behaved Doodles, those in charge may change their minds.

That is too cool. I think Gooses MOM needs to write a letter to my church so I can bring the doggies!

Heh. Our Mom understands the napping during the service! I (Fi) went to Mass once, to be blessed by the priest during the blessing of the animals, and Mom said I was (and I quote) "too much of a wiggle-butt" to go back, and she figured that being blessed once was enough! On the other hand, Abby has never been blessed, which probably explains a few things! Heehee! (Although Mom is thinking she might try to take Abby this year as part of her 'getting acclimated to new places' program.) Looks like you two had a most excellent time!

We'd love to bring our dogs to church. But I think Chooey will issue a bark-a-thon seeing all the lovely sights and smelling all those peculiar scents.
