Give Us Some Love!

"Hey Murph - did you notice we lost a follower on our bloggy?"
"I saw that brother, it makes me wonder why?"
"Somewhere out there a friend has left us . . . "
"And mom was trying to get 100 followers!"
"I think we can do it!"

Gotta Be Said

Hi ever'body!  This is a serious post.  But we were all talkin' and mom says it just has to be said.  Long story short, ever'body needs to go to the circus.  You might not realize how hard so many people have worked to put on the circus to help some fellow friends who need it.  Mom says when so many bad things happen in the headlines, it is wonderful to see what a beautiful place Blogville is and how wonderful the residents are.  We are grateful for each and every one of you. Even though we couldn't pick you out in a police line up (maybe a good thing - BOL!) we know your hearts.   There . . . it just had to be said.  Now get your butts over to the circus!!!

A Valentine's Day Card!

When dad went out to check the mail today we were surprised when he said, "Murphy and Stanley!  You boys have a package!"
I was so surprised I put down my ball to check it out.
Stanley read the address label and said, "I think it's from Millie and Remy!"
We opened it and out came 2 envelopes and 2 wrapped packages. So we ripped open gently unwrapped the packages.
Inside were 2 squeaky stuffies in the shapes of bones!
I knew this one was mine.  I think it smelled like Remy!
Stanley took the one from Millie and started kissing it!

Inside the envelopes were 2 Valentines Day cards!  We NEVER got a real Valentine's Day card before!
What made it extra special is that we think the girls made these all by themselves!  Well, maybe Millie's mom helped a little bit.  But they are beautiful!  Mom said "Wow, she must have a really good machine to do such great embroidery".  I don't know what that means but she was impressed too.

Thank you so much Millie and Remy!  We are so lucky to be taking you girls to to the Blogville Valentines Day Ball.  We've been having a blast the past few days!  Rest up for more fun tomorrow!

Ready For The Ball!

First it feels like it is taking forever, then it feels like it got here so fast!  You might remember that Remy is my date for the Valentines Day Ball.  She sure is beautiful isn't she?

Miss Remy
Stanley is taking Millie as his date.  She's gorgeous!  Stanley has been running all over the house giggling out her name and saying he can't wait to whisper in her ears!
Miss Millie
Our mom thought it would be a good idea if we got together for a play date before the Valentine's Day Ball.  That way we could get to know each other.  We found a place where we could all meet. There was green grass and we ran, chased and played ball.  At first the girls were shy and just watched me and Stanley but then they joined in and all 4 of us played fetch.  Millie is a good fetcher and Remy can run lightening fast!

After we played fetch we went to dig some holes.  I have to say that with the 4 of us working together be dug one giant hole!

Then we decided to show the girls where we went for our walk last weekend with Goose, Bert and the gang.  Luckily, they didn't have a snowball problem like we did.

It took us all day to do that, then we decided we better go home and get a good night's sleep for today cuz it was a big day for all of us!  We hardly slept at all, just 10 hours. Me and Stanley went to Millie's house to pick up the girls.  We were nervous cuz it was the first time we were going to meet their parents.

Millie's mom and dad
Remy's family
So we took off in the car that dad rented for Stanley to drive and went to Millie's house.  When we pawed at the door we heard a voice shout, "Come on in!".  So we went in and saw our dates in their gowns.

Our dates in their matching dresses - Va va voom!

Wow!  Those girls sure know how to get all beautified for a dance!  Me and Stanley exchanged knowing glances.  We knew every guy at the Ball was gonna be jealous of our dates!  So after a brief exchange of pleasantries  we went out to the car and set off to the Valentine's Ball.

"We're almost there, now where is that driveway?"

Fetching 101

It has come to my attention that there is a need for proper instruction on how to properly fetch a ball.  Some young pups need to learn but there are others who are older who have never learned the finer points of a proper ball fetch.  Since I am very experienced and therefore highly qualified in this matter, I offer the following instruction for those who need it.

1.  Selection of the ball.  The bottom line is that any ball will do.  However, those of us who consider ourselves professional fetchers, of which I believe I am, like the more racy ones like the one on the right.

2.  Selection of the thrower.  Any human will do.  If you are VERY lucky, you have one of those tennis ball throwing machines but I am not that lucky, nor my humans that rich.  So the best I can do is get my parents to throw the ball (unless you know Goose's mom cuz she is THE bestest ball thrower in the universe).  You should know that when a ball throwing device is used, you can throw it MUCH farther and thereby increase the level of joy relative to the effort of the fetch.

3. Catching the ball.  Keep your eye on the ball so you can retrieve it as quickly and efficiently as possible.  It doesn't look classy if you have to hunt for the ball.  If you can catch it, that is very classy but be careful of your teeth.

4.  Retrieve.  This is the part that many dogs mess up on.  Do NOT run around with the ball.  Do NOT try and get your humans to chase you with the ball.  These are all considered bad form.  You MUST bring the ball directly to your human and drop it in front of them.  That is the only way they can quickly grasp the ball and begin the repeat of the entire sequence . . . over and over.

5.  End of game.  No self respecting dog will voluntarily end the game of fetch.  You must tire the human out no matter how long it takes.

This is the face of a SERIOUS fetching Dood.

I can supply a number of witnesses to verify that I am obsessed proficient and crazed professional in my fetching, to the point of being fanatical perfect.  I would be happy to personally instruct anyone who needs it.  I am also available for appearances on Letterman or Leno.
