I've been making plans to deal with this BAD air inversion.
I do NOT want it to interfere with my Wilson time!
The air is unhealthy so I gotta take precautions!
You can see the layer of YUCK from yesterday (today is worse).
So I got a gas mask for Wilson to keep him safe.

Pee Ess - In case you didn't know, our inversion season (Dec - Feb) is caused when the sun is on a lower angle, the upper-level temps are warmer than the temps close to the ground, and a high pressure is parked over the top of our state. With our mountains, it creates a bowl effect and the inversion acts like a lid, not allowing emissions to escape into the atmosphere. So we are stuck breathing bad air until a storm comes through (meaning the high pressure is no longer present) and the bad air is replaced by fresh air. This isn't predicted to happen for quite some time so it is gonna get MUCH worse!

Very caring of you Murphy! Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx
We would suggest a gasmask for yourself, but your mouth would be covered. Maybe you need a few wind turbines pointing up....oh, you don't have any wind, back to the drawing board.
Heaven forbid Wilson breath in bad air....my word he might find a hole and bury himself never to be found again...that would be a nightmare.
I guess you all do your out of doors stuff early
Thank you again for the info on the inversion. Dad asked mom about it...
he confused her for someone who knew something.
Hugs madi your bfff
We are glad Wilson is taking some precautions. Wishing you fresh air soon.
We think you might need a gas mask too Murphy but then it might be difficult to catch Wilson.
Thanks for the scientific explanation and picture to go with. We are all science geeks here at my house. Will it affect your air speed when you're flying after Wilson? Hang in there guys! (You can always come to our house and enjoy the lake effect snow we're having right now.)
Murphy you are brilliant. Thank you for the explanation. We had no idea this existed
I'm so glad that you got Wilson that gas mask. But what about your dad? He needs one too if he's gonna be able to throw for you!
Inversions suck. We usually are looking down on the smog but sometimes it creeps upward too. Ugh.
Maybe space suits all way 'round would be a good idea ... it kept the astronauts safe from who-knows-what up there!
I have never heard of inversion season. That is a bummer because your view is always so gorgeous.
What a grand idea, Murphy! We are still hoping things don't get that bad!

Stay safe yourself, Murphy.
I've never heard of that before. Great job taking care of Wilson!
