Stanley does NOT play nice with Wilson. He tortures Wilson and makes him squeak scream and he plays keep away from me. It is torture but if I tolerate it, he gets it out of his system and me and Wilson can play undisturbed by Stanley's antics.
Stanley really tries to antagonize me so I will try to take Wilson. BUTT I know if I do then Stanley will just run off and then I have to chase him - exactly what he wants!
So I usually just wait him out.
The thing I do not wait out is when I am trying to give Wilson to mom (so mom can throw him) and Stanley is getting in my beeswax, lurking RIGHT THERE, so he can quickly grab Wilson before mom gets a chance to get him.
When that happens I usually see what Stanley is up to and don't put Wilson down until I know it's safe. But sometimes Stanley is so persistent that I have to roar like a lion so he knows I mean business.
When I roar, Stanley listens.

That Stanley is a tease. Sometimes at the river, Roxy steals the ball, or just gets in the way to mess up the game. We think Stanley knows which of your buttons to push, Murph.
I think you should be nice to Wilson. He has been a loyal friend for a long time. I know you like to tease him a bit but do't hurt him.
Maybe you need to find a different Wilson for Stanley, maybe a different color too. But you are smart - you have his antics all figured out.
Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
That's kind of mean of Stanley to kidnap your Wilson when you want to play with him.
Stanley, the ball-napper? No way!
You have to do what you have to do with a brother. Pierre and Bentley have to throw down every once in a while too.
One of my dogs would bring a bait and switch toy to get the one he really wanted. Maybe you could try that...
