Mama Ain't Happy

We HOPED to post pictures from our vacation just like mom HOPED to have her vacation laundry done.  But sometimes plans don't work out.  Mom started doing laundry and then the dryer stopped working.  Oh, those HBO words still burn our ears!  Anyway, some other suspicious things were happening so mom called the power company to have them check our electricity.  The man came out and immediately shut off our power!  He said it was UNSAFE!  Later on a crew came.  There were about 3 BIG trucks and a bunch of workers.

They ended up replacing our power line from the box to the house.  The man said it tested the worst he had ever seen!  So now dad said he is going to buy mom a new washer and dryer cuz she was suffering so much.  They went to the store and ordered a pair but now after doing some measurements they aren't sure it will fit in the laundry room.  It is VERY close and if it does fit mom will have to lose a few pounds in order to fit into the laundry room BOL! Me and Stanley are nervous as to whether mom will ever get all thet laundry done.  Cuz you know what they say:  "If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!"

Glad you caught the unsafe lines before it became too dangerous. Not a nice thing to return to. Hope the washer and dryer come soon and fit!

oh boy... that's not good that the bad things came together to you.... my momma has an all-in-one it#s washer&dryer in one pawson so she only needs room for one of that things. ( but it was the worst idea ever, because you have just one thing and you have to wait till the drying is done before you can add a new laundry load )

that would be no fun at all - maybe you can claim the damaged things on your house insurance

Dear Dog, your power was the worst the electric man has ever seen???? What does that mean?? Yikes! We would be very scared. I am glad everything worked out in the end. Now, if only your mom could finish the laundry. It is scary when the moms ain't happy,

Good golly miss molly that was just plain scary to have the electric stuffs messed up. thank goodness the power company came lickety split. Oh dear the last Washer and Dryer my peeps bought was a stackable....they measured the area where they would live ..everything okey dokey
but they forgot that the stackables were front loading which took up more depth....now the louvered doors don't close all the way....but that is on the list of things to be repaired.

You got that right! We're glad the problem with the electricity got fixed, even though it caused some inconvenience for a while. Better to be safe. The laundry can always wait! (We doggies could never understand what's so great about clean socks!)

Oh goodness, what a way to end the vacay! I'm surprised that you two weren't in any of the pictures helping to dig the big hole!

Good luck, I hope the washer and dryer will fit. I'm glad you got the electristicles all working right again now.

SHE calls that having to pay for a good holiday. Every time SHE goes away and has a great time, there's something to pay when SHE returns home. UNFAIR. Glad the guys were able to repair the problem, though.

OMD! I am glad that they found the trouble before a catastrophe...well, more of a catastrophe than vacation dirty clothes! BOL! I'm sure that you boys will need to check out that huge hole the men dug in your yard. I'd love a new washer and dryer!

Oh dear, not a good welcome home at all. All that laundry…
Cheers, Gail.
PS on the topic of washing machines in UK vs USA - in my experience the average capacity of an American machine is about twice the size of our typical UK ones, and what's more, their cycle time is less than half what ours take. There are a few things that you Americans to my mind unquestionably do better than we Brits, and washing machine design is definitely one of them.

Oh, YIKES! Glad they caught the problem before it was an even BIGGER problem, but that is just NO FUN!!! We're thankful everyone is ok, though.
Good luck with the washer and dryer. Our mom said something about having to use a crowbar to get ours in.
