Me and Stanley were having a blast at Bryce Canyon National Park. We would start our mornings out with a little wrestling, then have breakfast, and then go for a hike, It was pawfect. And then . . .
We packed everything up and got ready to go.
You can tell it's our truck cuz of the sticker on the window.
Mom needs to go through the photos but we took lots of them. Here's a preview . . .
As you notice, this rock is red colored. Sometimes it is orange, sometimes, red, sometimes pink, It all depends on the minerals and light. One day it looks one way and later in the day it looks totally different. Mom and dad have gone to Bryce Canyon MANY times. BUTT me and Stanley are NOT allowed on the Bryce trails (except for rim trail) so we hike just outside the park at Red Canyon. Doggies are allowed on ALL those trails cuz it is owned by the Forest Service and they like doggies!
Wind is eroding away these rocks and they are starting to form hoodoos. This area is famous for the hoodoos and some of them look like different things (a queen, a shipwreck, etc.). We have more pictures of lots of hoodoos we will post later.
The nice thing about these trails is that while all the tourists are on the famous trails we basically had these all to ourselves!
This rock was really tall. You can see how it is eroding and that one day it will be a big rock balanced on a little stem. We have pictures of that for later.
These rocks formed windows.
See how erosion is changing their shape?
We will post many more pictures once mom gets herself organized - ha!

OH.MY.DOG! That is such a great place to camp and hike! I am thoroughly jealous because I am sure we won't have a wheelie house until after I am at the Bridge, so I may never get to see such a grand and majestic site. I am so glad you had a great time...and I am sorry they packed you up before you were done having FUN!

Oh those rocks are just brilliant. But what is it with those National Park people and all their 'no dogs' rules? Totally unfair, I say.

You doods sure did see some beautiful sights! I love how the national forest is empty compared to the parks! We do the same thing as you - hiking with the dogs just outside the parks. Your photos of the hoodoos are gorgeous! I can't wait to see more red rock photos from your trip.
