Stanley Protects Family & Aids Police In Arrest

Stanley is a hero!  This morning, while we were all cuddled up on the big bed, sound asleep, he heard a noise so he started barking.  Our pawrents kept telling him to "LEAVE IT".  Dad got up and checked out front and thought maybe Stanley was barking at the newspaper delivery people.

So we tried to go back to sleep and Stanley kept barking and grumbling.  He would NOT stop!  After a little bit mom heard a noise and so dad got up again to check it out.  Dad walked into the kitchen, looked out the window, and saw a man looking in!

Dad was shocked!  Our backyard is totally fenced and the 2 gates are ALWAYS locked.  And in order to get to that window, a person has to go up about 14 stairs onto the deck.  Dad jumped into action and grabbed the man.

Mom heard the commotion so she came into the kitchen, Dad was calling 9-1-1.  The man was sitting in the kitchen, sort of confused (drunk).  The man stayed in the chair but when he tried to move mom shouted for him to sit back down (she used a big HBO word) or she was gonna hit him with the flashlight she was holding.  The man was shocked and sat back down.  About that time the police came to the front door and took the man away.

OH MY STARS STANLEY YOU ARE A HERO. THAT WAS A REAL NIGHTMARE. TO THINK SOMEONE WAS BRAZEN ENOUGH TO COME IN YOUR SECURE BACK YARD IS BAD ENOUGH BUT TO ACTUALLY BE IN THE PROCESS OF ENTERING YOUR HOME IS JUST SPINE CHILLING!
WE REMEMBER READING ABOUT YOUR PEEPS FIRST DATE THAT YOUR DAD USED TO BE A POLICEMAN!! THANK GOODNESS HE STILL REMEMBERED HIS POLICE-TUDE!!!

Wowee!! Well done Stanley! You're far braver than I could ever be. Well done for being so persistent with warning your folks. I don't even bark when the doorbell rings. Mum says I'm more likely to make friends with a burglar than warn him off.
Keep up the good work!

That was a real nail biter of a story. Good thing Stanley was on the job and didn't back down. Of course dad did a good job with nabbing the perp too.

Oh Stanley you are the bestest kinda poochy dude!!! It so reminded me of when Jade did the same for me and our neighbours. If you are interested you can compare stories here. I am truly glad that no harm came of this, but of course it is always a shock to have unexpected night time callers. Mom and Dad must be feeling extra pleased with you now. Stanley, we couldn't be more proud of you! We are glad you didn't stop barking when you knew it was real danger. Your dad is also very brave for grabbing the guy and your mom for using the HBO words to keep everyone safe. This sounded scary and we are glad that everyone is safe and it has a happy ending.

OMD, Stanley! Way to go, Dood! And, your mom threatening the guy with a flashlight had me laughing (only because I knew it all turned out okay).

We had something like that happen here around 4 years ago. We had THREE Labs all barking and growling, yet the intruder kept trying to get in our house. We called the cops, and yelled out the window that we'd called - and the guy took off. So, no one got to be a certified hero like Stanley!!!

I think we need Stanley to stay with us sometimes!

Seriously, I'm really glad that you're all okay. Thank goodness the guy didn't go into a house owned by a "make my day" kind of person.
