Scientific Testing & Experimentation & Give Away

Guess what??  We got another treat from Chewy to test!  We are part of their Blogger Outreach Program and each month Mr. Andrew asks us what treat we want to try and then just a few days later, it shows up on our doorstep!  They have very fast service!  But to be honest, the delivery person did not look like this picture (even though they both had dark eyes).

When me and Stanley see that box with the Chewy logo on it we are instantly thinking . . .

This time the treat we picked was Old Mother Hubbard Soft Bakes (Peanut Butter & Carob).

Ingredients:  Whole Wheat Flour, Honey, Peanut Butter, Canola Oil (preserved with Mixed Tocopherols), Carob, Cane Molasses, Natural Vanilla Flavor

Mom wouldn't let me keep the treats in our bed.  She said we had to do some scientific testing.  Me and Stanley got really excited even if we didn't know what scientific testing meant.

The package on the treats said that these were moist dog snacks but they were only slightly more moist than a Milk Bone dog biscuit (and that isn't moist at all).  The drawing referred to a moist inside and after we cut into it with our teeth a knife we could see that it was ever so slightly more moist.  We would still call this more of a crunchy snack.

At 10 grams this was a pretty good sized treat.  Stanley gobbles all his treats but for me, Murphy, it takes me several bites.  At 45 calories per treat you would want to be careful not to eat too many of them.  Mom likes to make sure we don't eat too many calories but it is very hard since most dog food and treats don't give caloric information.  So we cannot say how this compares to other treats.  Next was the best part of our scientific experimentation and Examination!

Me and Stanley both liked these treats!  But we had more research to do in the name of science!

Now it was my turn to be the scientist!

Yes, we both picked the Soft Bakes!

After all this scientific Testing and Experimentation everyone was getting sort of tired so we all decided it was time to watch some TV.  But Stanley did NOT come with us!

So the bottom line is that these treats have quality ingredients, are made in the USA, and were delicious!  The only negative thing is that we really don't consider them a moist snack.

Unfortunately we only gets ONE treat a day so da 45 calories prolly won't be so bad...will defintely looked into them treats.

THAT was like Watching Bill Nye the Science Guy. WOW doods... you could do your own TV show. We think that all scientists know that it is imPAWtant to keep their LABoratory Nice and Clean and Crumb Free. BRAVO. WELL DONE.

Wonderful experiment! Momma's glad to see this about these treats...she got me the same ones (though a different flavor!) and we both thought that maybe we had gotten an off-bag because they were not soft treats at all like we though they would be!

Thanks for the honest review. Those look a little big for us, something about a pug mouth, we have a hard time with treats that are too crunchy and big. We are very impressed how you Doods sat so nicely waiting for the go ahead!

Now, we've seen lots of Mr Chewy Reviews and all the stuff looks fantastic. We can nearly smell the contents of those little packets. BUTT, we feel that those treats should come in packets that are EASY for pups to get into. Packets that DON't NEED thumbs......just sayin'.

I hates it when they don't tell you how many calories are in each treatie!!! It drives Ma crazy!!! If a box of treaties doesn't say how many calories, Ma doesn't buy them. Something abouts havin' to watch my waistline...pffffft! I have to say though, those look mighty tasty indeed!!! I do loves those Mother Hubbard treaties! They do have smaller treaties that have less calories that Ma gives me.
Wows, you guys sure are lucky, you gets to eat at the counter??! You sure are lucky! Let me knows when the next 'experiment' is and I'll be right overs!!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥

Hi guys, Hunter didn't care for these treats at all but Lily loves them(she doesn't get treats at her house).
I didn't cut them but broke them in two and didn't find it to be moist at all. I love this program and it is a great way to taste test treats to see if your pup likes them before buying. Thanks for sharing; love your manners by the way.

I finally posted Shiver and Chico's review from February, so we didn't do one this month. My boys have really enjoyed everything they've gotten from Chewy so far. We didn't do any kind of scientific treatments though. They tend to inhale their treats too quickly.
