Birfday Box - Didn't See That One Coming

OK . . . OK . . . I am almost out of breath for the shock of our birfday pressie that the UPS man brought in the giant box yesterday. You are NOT going to believe what it was.  Not in a MILLION years!!  First thing was that we knew it was heavy cuz it was hard for dad to get into the house.

As soon as mom said it was our birfday pressie, and our birfday is not until February 3rd, I knew we could not wait that long to open it!

Me and Stanley decided to put the Doodle Team effort into persuading mom to open it.

We figured that since it came from  a pet products place that it HAD to be full of wonderful stuffs!  So dad dragged the huge box downstairs into the Big Room (yes, our pawrents are so lacking in creativity that they actually do call this room the Big Room). And then dad opened the box and put the pieces together.  We could not believe our eyes.  We have seen these before but NEVER at our house!!  Are you ready to see what it is???

Yes, it is a hangman's platform!  Mom seemed all delighted with it, muttering all about how it was going to make it easy to comb me without breaking her back.  Now I will admit, it was kind of fun when she made it go up and down, and the idea of mom combing me is a nice one but our fur stealers have some of these and now we are worried if our pawrents have other ideas too?  Stanley is right, no good can come of this!

Murphy & Stanley

Mom's Note:  Murphy and Stanley get combed every day.  Their Doodle coats are very heavy (especially Murphy's as it is more woolly but Stanley has tighter curls) and when we leave them long in the winter we want to make sure they don't get any mats. They are both VERY good about grooming and it is common for them to sleep through their comb out. But it is uncomfortable to be hunched over when we do it.  I love this!  It raises high enough that I no longer have to bend over to comb Murphy, and low enough to accommodate Stanley.

This doesn't look like a fun gift! It looks more like a gift for your mom and dad!
I agree, no good can come from this!
Have a wonderful Friday! :)

We think a huge box of treats would have been a much better pressie. Be careful because next thing you know your mom will be brandishing clippers like Fiona and Abby's mom does too.

Our Mom is giggling. We have No Idea Why, as we don't find that a particularly amusing birthday present, either! Hopefully when your Mom ordered that contraption, she also ordered some FUN stuff, like bully sticks or squeaky toys or treats or SOMETHING good. Just saying....

HAH - so it wasn't an outside room, but I just knew it would have something to do with your furs!!! C'mon doods, it's not sooooo bad. Really.... (Mom - just put on the Mozart and lull them into that grooming slumber combined with massage. They'll be putty in your paws.. er hands...)

Boys, I think the next thing mom will be doing is learning to groom you-cute your hair. I think it is a wonderful idea and I've often thought about learning how to do it-saving money. Maybe you'll get treats when they are done combing you out.
Have a great weekend.

What a pressie! I thought it was a noose for a sec too!! I am chuckling a bit - no way would Shyla ever go on that thing due to her fears. But, I'm so happy that it works for you! Happy Birthday, Boy Doods!

BTW, you asked on my blog about how many trail cameras I have. I don't like to advertise it but I have close to a dozen! I've been collecting them for years and years.

Umm, doods, you do know that that contraption is up there on the list of evil torture devices, correct? Also on that list are nail clippers and evil squirrels...just to give you some perspective! ;)

But hey, I've gotta agree with your mom, it must be nice to not have to be all hunched over when she combs you guys. If only there was a way to incorporate something like this when I'm poop scooping our backyard...guess I just need to get a scooper that's a little bit taller, because I have to hunch over with the current one we have and by the end of the scooping, my lower back is killing me!

You gotta look at it this way,,, it will make your pawrents happy and make them not hurt their backs, and it will be so easy for them to keep you both beautiful!
But I hope you get a toy for your birthday, and some icecream too.
