I am trying to train my mom but she has suddenly decided to either resist or play dumb, I'm not sure which. She knows my signal to go outside and she does pretty good with it. And she knows when I come to the door I am ready to come back in and she's pretty good about opening the door right away (unless she has too many distractions). But what she is messing up on is that she is supposed to tell me I am going to get a treat for actually coming in the door. Sometimes she gets it right but mostly lately she is messing up and just staring at me. So I am showing her I can stare back for a million years long time. This morning it happened again, she opened the door, did NOT ask me if I wanted a treat, and then to make matters worse, got her phone and took pictures of me!
I sure hope she figures this out pretty soon . . .

MURPHY....Humans are often very very very hard to train...it takes patience and repetition...hey maybe you need to give her a treat when she remembers your treat.
mol
hugs madi your bfff
Hey Murphy if you figure this one out please let the rest of us know what the answer is. It is so difficult to train our pawrents properly.

Hi Murphy, Hunter plays this game too but he actually wants it before he goes outside to take care of business. Sometimes he just goes outside and then turns around and comes back inside thinking that he'll get a treat for going out.. Silly boy! I know that he feels I am untrainable!
Happy Day.

OUR Mom is trying to get us not to plow people down when they come to our door, we are trying to tell her the more treats she offers us the better the results will be but she is not listening to us so we just act crazy instead. I don't know the answer Murphy...mom told me one time the answers are written in the stars, maybe that is why they always have their heads in the clouds.....bahahahhaha

That is scandalous ...... we say either refuse to come in or sit by the treat box and furthermore ....chew the darn phone pal and make sure it doesn't work. Have a tremendous Thursday.
Best wishes Molly
WE completely agree with Molly the Wally... THIS is a SCANDAL... an abomination fur SURE. Peeps are VERY difficult.
Training humans....sheesh! Don't get us started. They are soooooooo thick! Good luck. Keep standing your ground. It takes a long time.

Sheesh. Jeez Murphy. Just goes to show we have to go over, and over, AND OVER the lessons until they catch on. Hope your mum learns the treat trick quickly. Again!
No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
Murphy. I am surprised that you are so patient with such a silly human. She can't even learn a simple trick like that one? Work with her daily, or even many times per day, and I bet she'll start to see the pattern.
Our R sometimes refuses to go *out* unless we reward him with a treat. Go figure.
Some Moms are really hard to train. Stand your ground and maybe she'll get it.

Ranger
Murphy Dood sometimes these humans can really be thick and hard to train...Sometimes I have to stare and paw her arm before she figures it out
Well we have the same problem ... I need your help too :-) Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Our Lady also has this problem, but be a human thing. Lee and Phod
Beamer has the same problem. Maybe some of you dogs should look into becoming people trainers.
Murphy & Stanley...Thank you for visiting me. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. I can see that you're very smart. Don't worry about have ridiculous parents. All the Blogville pets have trouble with theirs to varying degrees. Humans just aren't super smart.
