Road To The Great Debate Kickoff!

Me and my handsome brother Stanley were just relaxing at home.  This mayoral campaign has been a LOT of work!  We like to take advantage of any down-time we can in order to decompress and remember to smile.  Just as we were about to doze off in front of the TV, we heard the phone ring.

It was our campaign managers, the most excellent BH&G Management!  Bailey called us and sounded REALLY, REALLY excited!

Yikes!  Just when we thought things would slow down for a minute we gotta get ready for a big debate with media and everything!!  OMD!  This is gonna be HUGE!!

We knew we had to REALLY prepare for this history making event.  After all, we didn't want to look like Richard Nixon at a Kennedy debate!

The Great Debate will be held in California and hosted by none other than the FIRST EVER mayor of Blogville, the esteemed Frankie Furter!

Check these blogs every day between NOW and The Great Debate on September 22nd.  The ROAD TO THE GREAT DEBATE will be found on our blog and:

It's gonna be an exciting week on the . . . Road To The Great Debate!

Come back tomorrow as the story continues!

Honoring Leroy, Reggie & Greta On Pet Memorial Day

Thanks to Ranger, for telling us that today is Pet Memorial Day.  So we want to take the time to recognize the two brothers who lived with out pawrents before we did.  Both these brothers lived around 14 years and after the second one died (Reggie), our pawrents said it was too painful to lose a dog and they would NEVER AGAIN get another dog.  It took 5 years and Goose to make them change their minds and me and Stanley are glad!

This is Leroy.  His full name was Leroy Brown cuz he was the baddest dog in the whole damn town.  Mom got him when he was a tiny puppy.  When she met dad, Leroy was a year old and dad always called him "City Slicker".  (That was in dad's cowboy days.)  Leroy LOVED wearing sweaters and this was his favorite one.

This is Reggie.  He was a lost dog that one of mom's friends found.  He had a tag on him with the name "Bo" and a phone number but the lady who answered the phone said she "got rid" of him cuz her boyfriend was allergic and she didn't know who took him.  The friend saw that writing on the wall.  She knew mom was softhearted so she brought Reggie to mom's office one day and said he needed a home.  He was about 2 years old at that time.  The scheme worked and Reggie found his furever home. Every time dad took off his belt to get ready for bed Reggie would cringe.  But Reggie had a heart as big as Texas and as soon as he figured out mom and dad would love him he loved them back like only a dog can love.

So today me and Stanley honor our brothers Leroy and Reggie.  They were two well loved dogs and they paved the way for me and Stanley even though it would be a long time before we were born.

There were many dogs who were born when we were but there was a special girl who was born the same month and year that we were born.  She was named Greta and she came to live with Bailey and Hazel in Idaho.  They were the Idaho Pug Ranch! Greta was happy and she knew she was in her furever home.  She was loved like crazy by good pawrents!  We were lucky enough to meet Greta in the furs recently, on September 6th.

We had so much fun running and playing.  She loved playing fetch too!  Greta's ears were flying in the air cuz she was running so fast!  She'd holler to us "Catch me if you can!" and be laughing as she made a quick turn to try and throw us off.  But all the while we were having such a good time, none of us realized that she had already eaten a bad mushroom and this would be her last time to run and play.

Sometimes it seems like a cruel miscalculation of nature that a dog's life is so much shorter than a human's life. But all of us dogs know how to make use of every minute of our lives.  We don't waste today by worrying about tomorrow.  And if we find a human to love us, and receive the love we have to give in return, then we have already taught the most impawtent lesson . . . never be afraid to love too much.

Thank you Leroy, Reggie, and Greta for including us in your lives! We have been blessed to have known and loved you!

It's Over, Done, Kaput!

OMD!  You will NOT believe what has happened now!!  As you might know, Stanley has NOT heard from his girlfuriend Taffy for many months.  He had his suspicions (we all did) but now it has been confirmed . . .

He is taking her picture off the fridge.  It's over.

PSA For FFHT, Campaign & Great Debate

Just a reminder that our Fractured Fryday Hairy Tails is coming up on September 26th, the last Fryday of the month.  So if you haven't already, start thinking of what you're going to write. This month's special inclusion to put SOMEWHERE in the story (or poem) is: "Just when I thought things couldn't get worse . . . " .  You can always see what the special inclusion is for any month by checking under the FFHT tab on our blog.

We're still heavy into the campaign and our time to debate our opponent Dory is growing nearer.  Starting Monday ( DAY AFTER TOMORROW!!!!!) we are kicking off a special story line that will take up the whole week and then we have the Great Debate on Monday, September 22nd.  And remember, since Frankie was the first ever Mayor of Blogville, the actual debate will air on Frankie & Ernie's blog!

Make sure you check our campaign manager's blog every day for the next week too.  They are doing a great job for us over at BH&G Management!  And you'll also want to keep an eye on our driver's daily antics, Angus McConnell Long from "RV Travel & More Where Safety Comes First".  It's looking like an exciting week for the Mayoral Campaign here in Blogville!

Go ahead and copy the debate badge (smaller copy on sidebar) and let's spread the word so everyone in Blogville can attend this historic event!

Wonderful Surprise!

OMD!  The most wonderfulest thing happened a couple days ago.  Dad went out to get the mail and brought in a box with MY name on it!  He put it on the counter and right away I could see hearts on it.  Who could have sent that and drawn hearts??  Could it be Ruby??

So I wanted to open it right away!  Of course Stanley helped.

There was a wonderful card inside.

OMD! It was from my REAL Cherry Bomb RUBY!!  She sent me 2 spiky balls (they are our favs) and a stuffie for Stanley.  She's so thoughtful!

I had to try it out right away!

So now I have the Green Grenade and the Berry Bomb!  Thanks Ruby, you sure know how to shop for a fella!

(I made that picture nice in case you want to print it up and hang it on the fridge.)

Ruby is THE BEST!!!

Pee Ess - Just because I have 2 new spiky balls does not mean I want Officer Bites to discontinue his investigation into the mysterious disappearance of my Cherry Bomb.  Thank you.

Wait A Minute Mr. Postman!

We are cracking up cuz every time our pawrents go to the mailbox and there is a package, it's always for us!  As shocking as it seems we got ANOTHER prize from Sugar's birthday!  We think we won 87 of them!  Thanks again Sugar!
