Yard Work

Now that our company has left us mom says me and Stanley need to get back to our regular chores.  Today we did yard work.

I, Murphy, checked to see if the squirrel we saw 3 years ago came back to his hiding spot.  He didn't.

Stanley checked to see if any rabbits were around.  They never have been and that is still the case.

Stanley checked the dampness of the lawn to see if the watering schedule needs adjusted.  It doesn't.

I checked to see if, despite dad putting 87 gallons of poison on the lawn, those ants are still alive.  They are.

That was a lot of yard work.  We'll need a nap now!

You did a fantastic job. You should pee on the ants It won't kill them but it will literally piss themm off.

It is not easy being responsible for your yard! Our squirrels taunt Pierre relentlessly even though he has caught two this month. He is also on guard for lizards. Bentley's job is sniffing where we walk and catching sunbeams. ☺

Please share your secret for ridding your yard of rabbits - you would make our Mom immensely happy. Meanwhile you two did a great day's work.

It's such a pretty yard. Ours was sort of boring - just evergreen stuff and a big lilac bush but Dad planted some flowering bushes back next to the garage which will be pretty next year.

You guys are such excellent helpers. We hope those ants aren't fire ants. Jan says they have more than 9 lives!

If'n you're still looking for some bunnies and squirrels you're welcome in our yard anytime ... it's on overload right now. I chase them ... the squirrels jump the fence or climb the trees; the bunnies in a rush, hide under the tool shed til nightfall! It's fun, but I haven't caught any yet ... Dougie Dog

Yups we pups have to stick to our patrolling duties. That's one of my favorite chores to be honest about it. If I ever do see any forest critters in my yard I make a point to tell them to get out of my yard longgg and hard. BOL Mom and Dad LOVE my vocal abilities. Just ask them.
