Cheap For A Minute

Yesterday we told you how mom was called "old" cuz she has valances (actually in every room) in the living room.  So she went to JC Penney and bought panels for the windows* that were recently replaced.  Dad is putting up rods today.

This is a cute picture of me that mom took yesterday while they were discussing windows.

This is a picture of us guys.  We had our halters on and were just waiting on mom so we could go out the door.

*The screaming deal mom got on the panels:  On clearance for $8.99 each plus an additional 25% off AND mom had a $10 off coupon!  They were in a pattern/color mom really liked too.  And believe it or not there were 8 of them, just the right number she needed!  Now if you add all that up it totals up to CHEAP! CHEAP! CHEAP!  BUTT mom needed different rods (she said you cannot just nail them to the wall) and that was $150.  Dad says as long as mom's happy we're happy!

Just Stuff

Mom said we haven't been doing very good with our blogging lately.  It rains more often than not and we think mom's brain is getting soggy.  BUTT yesterday the sun came out so I enjoyed some sunny fetching.  I know you want to see a few pictures of me.

Mom likes my ears on this one.

We want to post some blooms in support of our pal Dory who has been undergoing testing lately.  This is our magnolia tree.

Oops, Stanley jumped in there for a photo for Jessie who has also not been feeling well.

This is a new little magnolia.

I had to take a break from fetching to cool off.  Stanley was making sure I was OK.

This is Stanley trying out the new living room arrangement.  Mom's niece's friend said valances are "outdated and only for old people" so mom went crazy and took them off the living room window and then one thing lead to another . . .

OK, that's all we have for now.  It's another rainy day here and tomorrow isn't looking any better.  We hope our pals who are not feeling well get better real fast!

Oops, we almost forgot to tell you!  We are hosting a scuba dive/snorkeling event for Spring Break.  Send in your photos to cecampbell AT msn DOT com.

Sneaky!

Usually when our pawrents leave us at home, we listen for the truck to come back into the garage.  That way we can enthusiastically meet them at the door.  Stanley really puts on a show, complete with cries of pain so they understand how much we have suffered.

But every now and again they sneak back into the house and we don't hear them.  And then they nab the evidence disproving our cries of how much we suffer in their absence.

Really, we were suffering!

Begging Eyes

We always watch our pawrents very closely.  When we see them put on their running clothes we know what that means. We always watch to see which shoes they put on, the ones that smell like gross manmade materials or the ones that smell like delicious sweat.  But either way our reaction is the same.

Helping Pals

Every time we go on our 6 mile run we see these funny looking dogs and stop to see them.

Today we got extra close.

And we tried to help.

I guess you can't help someone who doesn't want it.

Best Day Ever - 5 Years Later

This is the post we put up 5 years ago today . . .

Today was a special day, probably the most important day of my life.  Today Stanley and I came home to live with Mom and Dad!  When I saw my mom and dad walk in the house to pick us up I couldn't stop wagging my tail.  Mom noticed right away and picked me up.  I was so glad she noticed.  They loaded me and Stanley into the big red truck and drove us home.  It took quite awhile.  Stanley was crying for awhile but I didn't cry at all!

Once we got home, the first thing we did was go into the back yard.  Of course the first thing I did was go pee.  My mom was so happy when I started peeing.  She started petting me and telling me I was a good boy.  It made me feel so good that the whole time I was peeing I was wagging my tail.
The first time I went pee in my own yard!
The next thing we did was walk to the edge of the yard, where it goes down a steep hill.  The view is incredible!  Stanley started taking a step down the hill but backed up.  Then later on we both went down the hill.  Mom was surprised we went down the hill.  She told dad she thought it would be weeks before we went hill climbing.
Me and Stanley, seeing the whole world for the first time!
We decided we'd better check out the lava rock by the bird bath.  We really liked climbing around it because it takes extra skill.
Me and Stanley go exploring on the lave rocks.
Stanley thought he was king of the hill when he decided to stand on top of the big turtle.
Stanley showing off his ability to climb turtles.
When we started getting tired, we decided it might be a good idea to take a nap under the wheel barrow.
We like relaxing under the wheel barrow.
When mom saw I was getting tired she thought it might be better to take a nap on her lap.  I sure liked that!
Napping on Mom's lap
After awhile I woke up, all refreshed and ready to do it all over again.
On Mom's lap.
Me and Stanley talked it over and we think we're very lucky pups.  We have a great mom and dad and they think we are the most amazing dogs who ever lived!  We can tell we are going to have a wonderful life together.  Mom reminded me to thank everyone who looked forward to our arrival with her and dad.

Springing Here

Our weather has been great all week, in the 70's and sunny!  So I want to show you all the springing going on (mom says calling it springing is better than saying leafing and blooming cuz it covers both BOL!).

This lilac was planted last year.

A tree ready to spring.
This is a lilac mom & dad planted a long time ago but it never thrived.
A Daffy getting ready to spring.
Our magnolia is getting ready to spring!
This forsythia bush is already springing!
The crocus has sprung!

Mom is sure hoping we don't get anymore snow but dad says he is sure we will.  Here I am helping mom check the perimeter to see if any holes need fixed.  Looks fine to me!

I like to sit on the corner so I can do security on the back, (one) side, and part of  the front.  So far so good!

We hope everyone is seeing some springing!

We're Digging It!

The street we live on ends just 3 more houses up the street from us.  Butt there have been some big machines up there lately.  Mom said they are putting in a new subdivision!  So me and Stanley thought we would be neighborly and help them out.

We know a lot about digging - just look at our backyard!  And they need giant holes dug up there for pipes and stuffs.

We're the right doods for the job too!

Ketchup

Hello Friends! We wanted to let you know we are home and mom is playing ketchup.  We have no idea what that means but she told me to say it.

Our weather was fabulous while we were in St. George (southern Utah).  We hope you enjoyed the photos we shared with you.  And the best thing is that the weather since we got home is wonderful too!

I've been playing with Wilson but I get kinda hot since it is in the low 70's and sunny (21-23C).  I hide in the freckle bush to cool off.

After I catch my breath I ask mom to throw Wilson some more.

Stanley just lays in the grass and works on his tan.

Some mens came and replaced our living room windows yesterday.  Mom is real happy about it but the view looks the same to us.

Anyway, mom said to tell you we will be coming around and visiting everyone in the next day or so, as soon as she done with the ketchup.
