A Case For Justice?

Something very disturbing has been happening at our house.  First of all I have to tell you how it USED to be.  Then I will tell you what has happened.  Now if I start sounding all legal or something, it is because I am sending this information to my furend Ernie the Attorney.  I hope he will consider our case as being worthy of hearing at the Court of Common Fleas.

This is how we have been sleeping for nearly 3 years:

As you can see, Stanley has to move around so he doesn't get a cramp and I am tight against my mom, where I SHOULD be!  BUTT mom decided that since her acid reflux was not getting better that she needed to follow a dumb doctor's advice and sleep with a "raised head".  What the dog is that anyway?  So . . . dad said he can't sleep with a "raised head" so mom said, "Fine, we need a new bed that I can adjust."  So they bought a split king adjustable bed with a memory foam mattress.

Me and Stanley were fine with that.  Our old bed was a king size memory foam so we thought these changes would NOT affect us.  Then we started hearing mom talking about her wanting to "sleep on her side" and then she accused us of "hogging the bed".  These words burned my heart!  Then when we thought it couldn't get worse she did this:

Oh My Dog!!!  What is she thinking?    So we tried a couple nights with the "new rules and new bed".  I took a little nap on the quilt and it wasn't bad was horrible!  So Stanley tried balancing on the tiny edge of the bed that mom was allowing (cuz SHE was hogging all the space AND making the bed tilt so we'd slide off) and Stanley didn't sleep a wink for fear of falling to his death!

I spent all night staring at mom BEGGING her to move over so I could cuddle her and hear her heartbeat.  She said I could sleep on her other side BUTT that isn't MY side!  I tried balancing on the inch she left open on MY side but I couldn't even squeeze in there!

As I'm certain you can tell from this solid evidence we have gathered, this situation cannot go on!  We aren't getting any sleep at all!  Now I do love my mom but I think you will all agree that this case demands JUSTICE!  I just hope Ernie the Attorney finds our case worthy of the Court of Common Fleas!

Oh that's bad, we dogs are creatures of habit and to change something can disturb our digestive system... just saying. maybe you can fix that problem when you call the road workers who can paint some "parking-lots" on your bed?

WTD is going on over there?!? Now, I have heard talk of this same kind of bed here in MY house...and if this is ANY indication of what will happen if the parents get this type of bed I say...SUFFER people because we dogs have our routines and that includes sleeping spots! Doesn't she know that you two are Mayors of one of the LARGEST communities on and around the Earth? And this is how she treats you?!? Unacceptable. I sure hope Ernie's office can help straighten out this mess right away!

I would clearly say after THREE years of sleeping that way you bof are GRANDFATHERED in and your MOM cannot clearly change the rules, I hope she has enough monies stashed in her mattress for her bail bond. I see a big medical bill loaming in the future if you bof keep sleeping on the ledge of that box at the end of her BIG bed.

Looks like you've got a good case for bed abandonment. I'm sure Ernie will love taking on your case.

Outrageous Peeps behaviour. I finks Ernie will have no problems winning this case! All you twos need to be doing is deciding what compensation (treats, treats and more treats I guess) you can extract after you win!

OMD this is serious stuffs.. not just for legals but for wellness - which is a concern!!! Doods, there will definitely have to be some understanding from you towards mum; your burning hearts are nothing to what she has been getting let me tell ya... on that matter let me say that there is ONE THING I got some of my patients to do which would not necessarily eliminate reflux but went a loooonggg way to cutting it down. Cook your potatoes in their skins. Wash them well, obviously, but no matter how you are cooking them, do so with the skin intact. Boil, steam, bake, even if you are chipping them. The skin keeps the starch in its rightful place. Eating the skin is also better for health, but that is not compulsory - you can donate that to the garbage after cooking if you really can't face it. Personally, I think the skin is the tastiest bit. IF however there is green showing, this should be removed as it contains aflotoxin, which adds to the gastro trubs.

There are of course many reasons for reflux, but this proved to be one of the best changes that folk could make in their diet and see how easy it is!!! The other is to lie with not just the head, but the entire upper trunk somewhat raised..... &*>

Back to you, Murphy; dooooood, you are young enough to learn new tricks. I know how it is - the J's had their 'sides' too, but there are circumstances here. By all means get some legal advices and I am sure that between their mediation and some cookery adjustments by mum, things will start to get betterer.... Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

Thankfully, Mom has enough guilt over the thought of making us sleep elsewhere that she wouldn't dare change the sleeping arrangements... We suggest puppy eyes.

Hey Doodz!
Wow, this is a terrible situation! Ernie the Attorney should certainly be able to help. I think somehow your peeps have forgotten who's really in charge around there. I mean, you've been nice enough to let them have part of the bed all this time, and now they think they can change things?!? Nope, don't think so. Your comfort is the most imporant issue, but I'll send your Mom's tummy a bunch of my healing vibes and POTP. That should help too!

Boys, I really needed to read this today, before I head off for my ctscan. I know Hunter would be snuggling with dad if we had a bed like your mom and dads. He loves to snuggle but usually ends up with his dad.
Hope you all work on an adjustment.

peep can be very stubborn about such things - we hope you can find a resolution

Totally unfair! Call Ernie straight away. Though reflux is awful--SHE has that, it shouldn't interfere with you! SHE can only sleep on her left side, sow we're not disturbed.

Oh gosh this is totally shocking treatment. Immediate remedy required. I am confident that Ernie is your dog. Best of luck!

PS I am confined to the cold kitchen at night. Since we in the UK are not such a litigious society as the USA, it had not previously occurred to me that I might bring a case against Gail. I am wondering if Ernie is well up in Scottish Law? (Different, note from English law.)

What is she thinking of? You cannot take the bed away from the dog after the dog has made it to the bed. This is against the 13th amendment in the dog bill of rights. You need more representation let us know.

Ojo said...

Hi hi hi! Ojo here! OH NO!!! Tragedy! Injustice!! That is truly terrible, horrible, no good and very bad!

What da woof?? Dis are outrageous behavior, ya has won dat bed by adverse posseshun - it are yours now!

M. K. Clinton said...

Seriously?! You cannot be expected to accept being treated like a D-O-G at night. Y'all have a community to oversee and it can't happen when you are sleep deprived! I am sure that Ernie will take your case. It is clearly a violation of your family rights! P.S. Don't call me for a witness, I'm not allowed on the bed. Something about short legs and long back.

Hailey and Zaphod and their Lady said...

Clearly this needs justice. When is a person's health and comfort more important than yours?

KB said...

I hope that justice prevails. It sounds like you've got a slam dunk case!

Taffy said...

OMD! I cannot believe your mom would do this to you. What on earth is wrong with her? I think Bites needs to arrest her right away before she starts thinking of other things to take away from you two. Doesn't she know that as the Mayorz, it is highly important that you get some good sleep???? Stanley, you can come over and stretch out on our bed. I promise my pawrents don't care!

Jans Funny Farm said...

You were evicted? Without notice? You definitely have a case. Jan blames us for her almost falling out of bed at night, so we understand.

Oh no!! This can't be allowed!

That is not a quilt that is an "easement" and is considered as a property right in itself at common law and is still treated as a type of property in most jurisdictions. I'd say it can not be moved without direct order of the courts.
