Fall Fest 2014

Saturday was the special Fall Fest at our church.  We had a 5K run & 1 mile walk along with a chili cook off to raise money for our local veteran's nursing home.  Me and Stanley always go to this event to help out cuz it is such a good cause.  The big event started off with a 21 gun salute at the veteran's home.  Then everyone ran or walked to the church (where we were). I was trying to sell pumpkins.

Stanley sold pumpkins too.

Our furiends come too.  This is our furiend Stitch's sister but I forgot her name.

This is a new furiend.  He sure is handsome!  He ran the race.

Stanley was getting secret pets under the table.

There were also horse back rides (big horses).  This is just a little one going for a walk.

This was another new furiend.  He was very nice and had a great smile!  Of course our church is VERY dog furiendly since we get to go to church for "Paws In Pews".

Me and Stanley are kind of famous (not as famous as Goose cuz he's been there longer).  Lots of people like to pet us.

We like to be furiendly to every one!

We had a really good turn out!

Two veteran runners (Team Red, White 7 Blue) who carried flags.

Lots of people pawticipated!

Dad was in charge of the prizes and awards and mom was the announcer.  We had over $2,200 in donated prizes!

Of course Goose's mom was there too!

Mom thinks we might have had a record turn out!

The chili cookers gave samples of their chili and then the people "voted" by putting dollars in the pumpkin buckets.  Since all the money goes to the veterans, cheating (by loading extra money in the bucket) is encouraged.

Stanley was talking to everybody.

We had such a good time!  We can't wait until next year so we can do it all over again!

Wow! What a great time for a good cause! Our John runs in marathons too. (That little white doggie with the pink polka dot collar almost looks like a squeaky toy!) Oh, and our Jessy has won prizes with her ox tail chili recipe. Yum.
