A Re-Chip Close Call

As those of you who are our Facebook friends already know, we went to the the dogtur yesterday for our yearly shots.  Stanley's microchip migrated and is now on the top of his left arm, by the shoulder (instead of his neck).  We thought he was going to have to be re-chipped (it was almost impossible for our other dogtur to locate and read the chip so they recommended a re-chip).  Stanley was scared!  I was scared for him!

But today the chip was easily read, even in the weird location.  So now we think everything is going to be okay.  (Maybe the other scanner had a weak battery or something?)  Whew - that was a close one!

Yep those chips are little buggers moving and hiding. Glad you didn't have to get another one Stanley. Hopefully no more dogtor for a while. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Best wishes Molly

Woof! Woof! Interesting that they can't read it and it moved. Is it the same vet that did the chip? Just glad everything is fine now. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
BTW: we just BUSY. Oprah is not in town but you got to check out the cover of O (taken in Maui and we were there-walkingon her street) when she did the photoshoot. Happy Day! Golden Woofs

Stanley you are lucky to have such a great dad to be there to comfort you at the vet. I'm glad you didn't need to be chipped again, but I hope you got to eat some chips (or other snack) after you got home.

When WE went to OUR Dogtor fur OUR Annual Check ups last month... OUR dogtor couldn't find Ernie's Chip.. and mom about FAINTED... THEN he tried to find MINE... and that is when he realized that the thingy was not Charged up... so he went and got another one... and POOF... there was Ernie's Right where it should be... WHEW... we know just what you mean about being worried... THAT HURTS when it is given without NAPPING involved. WHEW... WHEW.... we are SO glad that Stanley's was Found.
PeeS... Ernie's HAD moved about 1/2 inch... MINE has never moved.
It is good to have them checked EVERY Year... We do. Just in Case.

So glad that Stanley didn't have to get re-chipped. Those needles look HUGE! Love a happy ending.

I have never thought about asking our vet to scan Beamer's chip to see if its in working order. Thanks for the idea :)

Oh, phew! That's so good! How did the chip travel that far? That's so weird! I bet Stanley was really frightened of the dogtur, and if he were to be re-chipped, I would be so sorry for him!
Hope he's better now!
Have a good day!
Pippa :)

Canada and the US use different chips (that are not compatible with each others scanners) and as wes live in a border town and does most of our shopping on the US side, wes got the Hairy Slobbery Cinnamon a great (and unique) tattoo in her ear. It is furry easy to see as she doe nots has a lot of hair in her ears.
